List it in the Nabisco classifieds. That's a special car and deserves a special buyer.

I know it works the other direction - a local dealer was really busy during that time with Canadians buying US cars - a salesman buddy of mine was basically doing nothing but the paperwork full-time to expedite US cars across the border.
If the car was built here & then imported north, it may meet US specs.
If I hit the Lotto in the next couple weeks, I'll let you know - that car would be a real treat.

Cheers!

Oh it was built there, Subaru don't have a plant in Canada to the best of my knowledge.

 Cheers Pat.

Road trip! by ladywclass

Well, not in the sense of someone who drives from Alaska to Pennsylvania and back and then .. well, you know ...

We went to Indianapolis yesterday to see Daniel Tosh perform last night. I guess you have to be a bit warped to enjoy his comedy .. well .. I guess we are! We had tickets for front row/center. It was great. Stayed overnight, and drove home today. It's about a 3 hour trip from home and a nice weekend getaway.

Ate at a Sullivan's steakhouse last night. It was pricey, but wonderful!

Feeling "crazy" by ladywclass

I'm going to look at a building that I think would make a wonderful investment for our future. At the same time I feel nuts for even considering this.

It's a school that was built in the 1920's, closed in 1987. Bought and turned into private residence, then sold again in 2003 and made into Bed and Breakfast. I think it changed hands one more time between then and now.

It's still a B&B. It has about 5,000 square feet in main floor, and another 5,000 in the daylight basement (about 1/2 under ground, but with lots of windows and light). It has another 1200 sq feet or so in an attached building that is now the "owner's quarters". This is one of those blocky brick structures with lots of tall windows and tall ceilings. It is about 1/4 mile from main highway "around town", and has almost 4 acres of land included with the building.

I pass this building every day going to work and it is on the market. I see so many possibilities. First of all we could live in the building. It has 6 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms + 2 half baths. It also would be great for me to open the tutoring service I keep saying I'm going to run after school and on Saturday mornings. It would also provide space for a business we've discussed for my husband. There is also at least one room that could be rented out for functions - family reunions, small weddings, etc. AND the owner's quarters might be a good apartment for aging parents (his OR mine). I kept thinking I'd look up the price and then I wouldn't think about it anymore. I did look it up last weekend, and the asking price is $244,900.

I drove my husband over to see it the other evening. He's encouraging me, but there would still be a lot of obstacles to overcome even if we decide it's "all that" once we see inside......

am I "crazy like a fox" ... or just "plain crazy"...?

we'll see ...

Yeah the turbo is now between the Timing Belt Cover and the Radiator.

So the UP section is significantly shorter, I haven't had a chance to really look deep into it but I'd imagine this will make working on Timing Belts a bit more of a PITA and it'll be interesting to see where the exhaust goes after the turbo as well as where the intake piping goes. There will still be lag due to having to charge up the whole piping, similar to the issues surrounding a FMIC where the hoses goe from the firewall down to the front and then back up.

That's cool. I always think of buying an old manufacturing building or a power company switching building to convert into a house. Never have enough $ to do it though.

Good luck!

Well, in THIS case, I think a lot of that work has already been done! We'll see ... you know I'll end up letting you guys know after we look at it inside.

Sounds like a fun idea to me, especially since it's already been "repurposed." The utility bills might be a bit scary.

Mike, I've always wanted to live in a warehouse or aircraft hanger. Put everything, including the tub and pony walls, on casters.

That's what I was thinking too, regarding utility bills. My high school was one of those 1920's era square brick buildings. Even while going to school there, I used to imagine it as a private residence. It would have made quite a grand abode. And, for all the space in it, there really weren't all that many rooms. Including the office, I think it had seven rooms, plus the gymnasium (that doubled as the cafeteria).

Brenda, in your case, the land that comes with the building may prove to be a valuable asset. You're not crazy. I think about doing that sort of thing all the time, and we all know that I certainly am not crazy. Right?
