Yep, I like them a lot; paid only $650 shipped for the wheels and a set of Dunlop SP Sport 5000 with lots of tread left. I had those mounted on my oems and put the Bridgestone RE960 AS tires on the golds.

I remember it like it was yesterday, in fact I had more free time back then so I spent more time on cars as a hobby in general, vs. now.

Nowadays it's Mario Kart Wii with my son.

This is a rehash of my comment in Tom's Corner Garage: Avoiding Summer 'Meltdowns'. Basically, I parked the Outback outside for a couple of days and the pen that I keep in my gas log book in the visor baked and leaked out.

Naturally it was blue ink, so it doesn't blend in too well with the black leather seats. More character marks (don't tell Wes, lol).

I called about a nice sounding Miata today in BRG and tan. Only $2,000 too high but I was thinking it was a one owner cream puff from the description. Turns out that the owner has just had it for one year. It's another California car (but from inland!).

Will baking soda absorb some of it? The leather probably soaked some of it in, though.

The drops got baked in for at least a day before I discovered it. Most of the cleaning sites recommended rubbing alcohol, but we didn't have any. My wife found some Swimmer's Ear in the medicine cabinet that's mostly alcohol and that helped quite a bit. I didn't want to get too aggresive and make it worse by leeching out the dye on the leather.

Some baking soda probably would help though - probably would help keep any ink from rubbing off on my pants.

Stuff happens.

Haha; that it does, but who would ever have thought it would be that?!

Not that this has anything to do with the topic at hand, but I embark on my trip south tomorrow night! I will contact you and Brenda for phone #s so I will be able to keep in touch as we progress on our trip. I doubt I will be logging in from the road, as we are going to be camping on this go round. It is always nice to think we will travel as planned, but with two children and 205,000 miles, anything can happen!

That's nothing. My boys decided to leave Crayons which got behind and under their booster seats in my WRX. Nice environmentally friendly soy based green, yellow and blue. I got to discover a modern art dried puddle which soaked into the cavities of the WRX cloth. Ice cubes enabled me to remove quite a bit, but some had worked its way into the fibres and never came out.

Subaru Crew Gathering at Stoney Creek by ateixeira

Got together with Bob and Frank yesterday, and ate some yummy crab cakes at the Stoney Creek Inn. Pix:

Frank drove up in his SLK350 and I had my Miata, so we compared power hard tops. Bob came in his WRX, I parked side-by-side so we could get some photos.

I had the regular crab cake platter, but Bob had the big one, and boy, that crab cake seemed to be the size of an Apple Pie! It was HUGE! Lots of crab meat and very little filler, so it was delicious. Thanks to lucien for the recommendation.

After lunch Bob and I drove to a Subaru dealer in Silver Spring, but all the dealerships were closed, so we were only able to check out a few cars from the outside.

They didn't have any 2010 Subarus at all, so I didn't get to see that 2nd red color used for the 2010 Forester. Bummer.

We dropped by a Mazda dealer so I could show Bob the new Sunburst Yellow color for the Miata (gorgeous, but not available in hard top form).

Then we snapped a pic of the new Cube, a quirky but neat little car.

After that we even hit the BMW dealer at the same auto park and were able to get in an unlocked Z4 hardtop. Very nice but those things have grown in to big and heavy GTs now.

Yup, lots of fun, and my crab cake was a 1-pounder.
