Replying to: volkov (Nov 02, 2008 9:56 am) Oh you'll get them, just let me pile on some miles.  I'm taking it easy (keeping it under 4K rpm) until it's broken in. As of this posting I've only got about 110 miles on it, of which I may have put on 60 or so. The dealer put on 50 or so miles, as they had to get it from another dealer in Northern Virginia. I will say this: The engine seems to be a bit more flexible than the old one. The '06 model didn't like being in 5th gear below 50 mph unless the road was flat. The new one seems a bit happier in 5th down even as low as around 40 mph. That makes for easier driving, and hopefully maybe even better gas mileage. Bob |

Replying to: rsholland (Nov 02, 2008 1:32 pm)  seriously though, the car sounds fantastic. I'm not sure I'm going to be able to get past the 18/25 EPA estimates when the time comes, though. Not for a daily driver, anyways.

Replying to: lucien2 (Nov 03, 2008 5:10 pm) Hey Loosh, if you're concerned about the mileage—don't even think of test-driving a new WRX, as you'll be hopelessly won over! I'll be watching the gas mileage, as I did with my old one. My '06 model never got under 21 mpg, and I checked it every time I filled up. The new car has a mpg indicator hooked into the trip meters. I'm going to compare that with the old fashioned way and see what the results are. I expect about the same, maybe a tad less. We'll see... Bob
