moonroof has an auto-open and auto-close feature

Thank goodness, that is one of the few complaints I have about the 04 I have - that you have to sit there on the button for what feels like forever to open and close it.

Alittle late here but...

Bob, sorry about your mishap but I'm glad to read you are ok and things are coming around for you.

Serge, my condolences to you and your family. Keep your spirits and head up. I'm sure your Mom would've told you the same thing.

Mark, sorry to hear about your job lay off after 22+ yrs. This economy is doing a number on us. Especially those doing contract work (like me). Finished my contract and now looking for work.

Let's stay positive folks.. We'll get passed this

Thanks for the thoughts folks. It's been a bit crazy and all but we are hanging in there.

Bob- if you are looking at the Garmin's there is a new series just coming out, the 755T and up that now has lane assist, 2 types of traffic and routes (something I miss on my 370). They keep on improving the systems so by the time you are ready, and with the way the economy is going, you should do pretty well price wise. If you go to http://gpsinformation.net/ there are some links to some good retailers.

Brenda- hope everything is going along well with your folks.

Elm- good to hear from you and sorry to hear about your contract running out. My wife is in the same situation. Her contract ran out awhile a go and was taking it easy until now. Now she's been applying to everything she finds, as well as asking the consulting company for any openings.

As my Mom used to say, I'll take it one day at a time" and not go crazy.

I think I'll be waxing the rims on the winter tires this week so they can be ready for the swap out at Mike's place.

Hang in there everyone!
Mark

For what seems to be my once a year hello.

Mark - Sorry to hear about the layoff. Hope you find something to your liking.

Bob - I'd seen on NASIOC that you got an '09 WRX but hadn't heard the "why". Yikes! Glad you're OK!

Serge - Sorry to hear about your Mom passing. Yes, Mom's cooking is always the best.

Juice - Sorry to hear Hadji passed. Sounds like he was quite the companion. Whether purring or barking.

We still have the '05 LGT Wagon and are still loving it. I think I had a rear wheel bearing replaced since I was last here. Oh and got some summer wheels and tires. The British Black Prodrive GC-05's look great on it. Couldn't resist getting them when Prodrive was leaving the US Market in the late winter/spring. I think they're back now but a sale is a sale.

My wife and I have been test driving some nice cars lately as she's been looking to upgrade her '93 Acura Legend Coupe. We've driven an Infinity, an Audi and a BMW all automatics. The Infinity G35x Sport felt a bit large, had a great Nav system and was quite nice all around. The '09 Audi A4 V6 w/o Sport package was nice but need to drive it again when not in the middle of a torrential downpour with grape size hail. The '08 335i with sport package was quite nice but the loop the salesman took us on was only surface streets so we couldn't get much of a feel for it. It was rush hour though so the highway wouldn't have been any better.

I tried to get her to drive a new Subaru Legacy but she really doesn't much like the sedans and we've already got a wagon so...

The Bimmer is leading the pack at the moment. Although she's not sure she needs the turbo version and wants to drive the 328i as well. I'll keep pulling for the 335 though.

Cheers!
-Ian

Mike I know I am now a senior citizen but I am not senile yet!. I know what nights the chats are on, if you had taken the time to read my post you would have seen that I said I cannot get into the chats period.

  Cheers Pat.

Hmm I thought you were trying to get into the chats on the wrong nights! haaa, who's the seniel one now?

No new '09 WRX yet. Supplies are low at the moment. Hopefully soon though.

we have snow ON THE GROUND .. this is too freaking early!

(global warming I'm sure ....)

coming home last night (about 8:00), was driving through this mix of heavy rain, sleet, and snow ... and by about 9:00 it was just snow .. big puffy flakes and beautiful from inside .. but won't be so pretty this morning!

living in an area where it snows every year, I have learned that every year some people (lots of them apparently) have no long term memory of driving in snow and have to relearn each and every year .... always amazes me ..

Yep, same here Brenda, but at least we are passed the "new snowfall" stage now. Our first snow was a month ago! Early snow, indeed. It was nearly -20F this morning!

Personally, I think that people who drive on snow/ice for nearly seven months out of the year should have no problem "remembering" how to drive on it. But, alas, they do. I think the biggest problem is that they never learned to begin with!

Only one problem so far. I can't get the grin off my face.
