Sorry to hear of the little guys passing juice, but he went out on his own terms, He spared you the agony of having to do the deed for him.

    Cheers Pat.

Mark, that's a kick in the seat of the pants, but opportunity knocks at the same time, They say when God closes a door he opens a window.

Now guys no matter what I try I cannot get into the chats, I get into some room but I am all alone, does not work for the Mazda chat either. This has been a problem since I changed my computer. I now have Kaspersky anti virus instead of Norton, could that be the problem?

  Cheers Pat.

Chats are on Tues/Thurs, today is Wed!

Mark, you can always use the shop to detail your car!

Bob: Cool choice, I'd get a Garmin, they have a new one out which has IIRC a 5" screen, I know you wanted one with a bigger screen so that may do it for yah. I'll look up some details on it for you too.

Bob- I got a Nuvi 660 for my B-day last month and I'm very satisfied. I did some research a while back and it got very high marks so I just waited until the price came down to a reasonable level

See you there!

And if you can't get in tonight Pat, drop me an email with details of your experience and we'll see if we can't get you fixed up!

Hey Pat, welcome back! Where've you been? Surely you didn't stay at the cabin this late?

No, I'm actually not surprised.

Though I am glad you pushed me to try it out - that what real friends ought to do. Ask questions that help you come to a well-informed purchase decision.

For $1800, the screen is not that bright, the interface is only so-so, and it doesn't even come with a backup cam, like the Tribeca's. That would help you back up to mount a trailer hitch, for instance.

I'm not sure if the region was set on the one I test drove, but it seemed clunky and could not find the two Exxon stations on Rockbille Pike near White Flint Mall, which have been there for ages.

Garmins are far from perfect (still no Bridgeville McDonalds, after how many decades?), but the interface is 10 times easier to use, and the screen is actually brighter. Sound is not as good, and the screen sizes are still smaller, but you pay only a fraction of the price, and you let your wife or kids borrow it.

Be careful about that, though! Wifey stole my first Garmin.

Today, I would probably buy a Nuvi 700 series. Not sure which one, but I like the idea of traffic capability, plus the improved satellite receivers, and the ability to add Custom POIs (points-of-interest).

With a 2009 WRX, you'll need the speed-trap POI database.

Frank, my grandparents have one of these as well. They had me set it up for them prior to our trip to Washington through Canada last fall. It was mounted on the dash of their motorhome, and worked quite well for them. They even figured out how to use it, which means it must be a very intuitive interface.
