Juice, sorry to hear about Hadji. As much as we all joked about him, he was part of the crew and a faithful part of your family. Let your daughter (and your family) grieve...it's part of the process, and sometime down the road, get another dog from a shelter.
Meanwhile, Dina has volunteered to be the mascot...

Hey folks,

As of yesterday I became another casualty of the economy and mergers as I was let go from my job after 22+years. A heck of an early birthday present! At least I'll be able to read more stuff here on Edmunds .

Here's hoping everyone else is doing well.

Mark, that sucks bigtime....keep your spirits up. You also have more time to wash and wax your Subie...don't forget the inside of the wheels (right, juice?)

Ouch! Sorry to hear that Mark. As Serge said, keep your spirits up—and wax that car! Hopefully a job that you like will turn up shortly.

I'll echo those sentiments, aside from the car waxing!

Bob, has your WRX situation reached any resolution?

Juice, I am glad to hear it all happened peacefully. In a way, that makes it all much easier to bear, especially for the children.

As for the extra eight lives, I have found through my cat ownerships that those critters have ways of using up those tokens without the rest of us even realizing one was spent....

That's right, every 7500 miles when you rotate them.

At the risk of losing my OCD Club Membership card, I've slacked off as other priorities have taken over.

Maybe Mark can open a car detailing biz...I'd be the first client!

Bob, has your WRX situation reached any resolution?

Looking to get a new '09 WRX Premium 5-door, maybe within the next week or so. I've driven a couple of them and they are really very nice—and very quick!

I've heard from Allstate. The car is a total loss, and they're giving me close to $20K for it, which is about right. Met with my accountant today, and he's given me the green light. Also got my SOA VIP coupon in the mail today. So things are moving ahead.

Much to juice's surprise I'm sure, I may forgo the NAVI, as it really doesn't seem to be that good of a system—which he's told told me 1000 times already! I played around with one the other day, and came away rather disappointed. It was slow to accept changes, and froze trying to find my home address. I've also been in touch with Edmunds editor Erin Riches. and she found it to be lacking as well when she took their long-term NAVI-equipped STI on a 400 mile trip. So maybe a Garmin is in the cards as well?
