Took the family in for a test drive, see the 2009 Forester thread for details. We're pretty much waiting for the right one to get in stock, the LL Beans are popular and they sell out quickly.

Then check the gaskets and front and main seals for oil leaks, maybe add in a compression test. If it passes all those tests and drives smoothly, go for it. My dad's 2001 OB Ltd is running like a champ. I doubt it, though. That is the catch. The guy paid $41k and it's got manual seats and no GPS. I optioned out a 335ix coupe w/ Navi and 6mt and it was only $48k and that's got AWD. I think I've finally got a plan for the next 6 or 7 years in terms of cars and what I can afford. Probably will get a 2010 or 2011 Legacy 3.6 or if the 3.6t comes out in spring of 2010 when my car payment ends on the Armada. Keep the Armada for towing and family haulin. By then the 05 LGT will have around 100k miles and it will become my beater/daily driver and the new Legacy will become my "good car". For a daily for the next 2 years I'll either drive the 240sx or sell it ang get a 98-01 altima. -mike
