Guys, would it be possible to keep an eye out for a used wagon for Michael, maybe in the local papers or used car dealers. He's looking for a clean, older, and well maintained Legacy or Outback, and is looking to spend approx $5,000, so my guess is the range would be 1998-2001. Replying to: lilbluewgn02 (Apr 20, 2008 2:46 pm) Hmm well there isn't a wagon, however there is a 96 Brighton coupe, AWD, 5MT, 1.8L (30mpg+ IIRC) with 138k miles for sale by a guy in queens, I think $1600, I was gonna pick it up but will probably just stick with my 240 for now. Might be worth it, AC even works. -mike

Took the family in for a test drive, see the 2009 Forester thread for details. We're pretty much waiting for the right one to get in stock, the LL Beans are popular and they sell out quickly.

Then check the gaskets and front and main seals for oil leaks, maybe add in a compression test. If it passes all those tests and drives smoothly, go for it. My dad's 2001 OB Ltd is running like a champ.
