It's over-acted and not very believable but funny nonetheless. Everyone's talking about it at the water cooler, though. After watching it for the first time, that ad would indeed be understood by Desperate's viewers. -juice

Replying to: ateixeira (Oct 25, 2004 6:49 am) Loved the line about being known as the Mom of the boys who painted the little girl blue!! I think its also fun that i can relate a number of the characters to real neighbors, although no one has been digging up their pools.. (at least that i know of...) O |

There is tons of near-nudity, I mean lingerie and obscured shots. Imagine if it were on HBO! -juice |

Did anyone else catch the Legacy and OB write up in the Sunday NY Times Sports Section this weekend? (requires log-in) http://www.nytimes.com/2004/10/24/automobiles/24AUTO.html Overall a comprehensive write up. One interesting comment from the writer: "I found it easier to get the throttle response I wanted with the automatic." He was comparing a 5MT OBXT with a 5EAT LGT wagon. Ken |

OB's suspension has more play, so its responses aren't as sharp as the Legacy's. It might have been the suspension more so than the tranny. -juice |

Throttle by wire works far better with an auto in my opinion. It has little "driver" benefit with a manual transmission. So that's probably what he noted. I also think the throttle response is better with the 5EAT, in either car. Craig |

the torque converter's ability to freewheel a bit allows the turbocharger to spool faster. if you're cruising at low RPM and nail the throttle, this is immediately obvious. ~c |

But doesn't the turbo require a load to spool? Does a TC freewheeling provide enough load? Ken |

Just curious if anyone has given any thought to doing the tour at SIA plant in the future. I know we had bad timing back in June, but I am curious if the group intends to try and give it another shot. Believe it or not, we are already looking at the '05 calendar at work for days off! The only Subaru type of event I'm aware of at this time is the 48hrs run Jan 6 - 9. Mark

That's a loooong drive with 2 kids. Their limit is about 3-4 hours before they get fussy and need to stop. Maybe if I had a Tribeca with a built-in DVD. -juice |
