Of course we've been talking about it for some time now ... we just couldn't seem to make it work for all the family with everyone so spread out .. and we didn't really want anything 'big' anyway ... so .... we'd talked about just getting married when we got the license, asked about it in the clerk's office .. they said .. come back in 1/2 hour when the judges are back from lunch ... (and who has time to take off another 1/2 day???!!!) and while I like juice's suggestion of calling him Mr. Brenda ... his name is Jack thanks for the good wishes, guys ...

Well, I just got back from the library after doing my civic duty and voting...Florida is one of those states that now have early voting. I guess since the debacle of 2000, they must have figured that with early voting, if we don't get it right the first time, we can always vote again on Nov. 2 Remember, vote early and vote often! Serge P.S. I have a feeling that this too will end up in court. Lawsuits to go around...according to the Florida Constitution, the ability to do a manual recount is required..with these touch screen machines here, that ability does not exist...if anybody sees my vote floating around, please mail it back to me...

Hey gang, I've been off the board for some time now but I'm dropping back in! So I just got the invite to this event and was curious as to whether there is any buzz about it on the board. It took me all of one minute to finish my registration! I'm just thrilled to go golfing up in Half Moon Bay with fellow Subaru owners! So does anybody have any specific insight to this event? -chemboy2

Yeah apparently they are gonna sue even if it's not a close election, that really saddens me, why would you sue just for the fact of sueing? Oh well. -mike

This election will be VERY close, Mike. The anger from 2000 has not receded and polls are being watched very closely. The number of new registrations here have been enormous. The lawsuits currently in court have mostly to do with lack of recount ability; see this article from today's NY Times http://www.nytimes.com/2004/10/19/nyregion/19voting.html?oref=log- in But these will be nothing compared to what will follow; there already are complaints about Glenda Hood, Katherine Harris's successor here. She already has tried to fiddle around with the vpter rolls; one way by adding thousands of blacks (who generally vote Democratic here) to the no-vote list while adding only 80 Hispanics (who generally vote Republican). Needless to say, that list was scrapped after very quickly. She has also tried to invalidate many new registrations.
