Harmony and I had a great weekend in the mountains this weekend, camping and hiking in Shenandoah and then spending a night in a 5-star hotel with a fancy dinner (talk about a packing nightmare to handle all those extremes). The weather was perfect, the foliage was perfect, and we had a wonderful time. Then, Monday morning as we are checking out, I notice that someone clobbered the driver's door on my new XT with their bumper!! Yeesh! Not a good way to end a nice weekend. All said, it's minor -- about a 6" horizontal crease in the sheetmetal, one pucker in the sheetmetal, and paint scraped off the lower cladding and door trim. It looks worse than it is. I am hoping I can get away with paintless dent repair and touchup, since no paint was scraped off the sheetmetal. I know it would probably be a $700-1000 repair / door repaint if I went to a traditional body shop. Hotel security took some photos, and hinted that their insurance might cover the repair, so we'll see how it works out. Craig, Sorry to hear about your first mishap. That first one's gotta hurt. Well, if it's of any consolation, my GT is getting it's share of rock chips from my daily highway commute. I already have a big ding in my side mirror on the driver's side. It catches my eye every time I get in the car. Grrrr... But what can you do. Ken
