Brief Subie article in USNews & World Report by lark6

I just read this in my doctor's office. September 27 issue, 'Miracle Babies' (re IVF) on the cover. This time it doesn't mention Patti but is very favorable toward Subaru, pointing out that although the company only controls 1% of the US car market, it has a cachet bigger companies would kill for.

The article introduced me to the adjective "Subaresque."

Just a quick note to those of you in the North West. I hope none of you are in the area of Mt St Helen's, nor any family or friends. Stay safe.

Mark: I'm about 300 miles ENE of the mountain. We got about 1/2 inch of ash here in the 1980 blast - the so-called experts are saying this event won't be that big. We visited there a few years ago - what an awesome display of nature's power, even 20+ years afterwards!

Cheers!

Just a "half step" better handling than the average family car?

I would think the 2.5i is at least a full step and the GT several steps better than your typical family hauler.

Thanks Mark. It's supposed to be a small burp compared to 1980. This is what I get for laughing at Florida.

I'm bummed. I was supposed to do a one day hike around St Helens this weekend or next, but they closed the Lowwitt trail. Probably won't be open before the snow hits.

Well I suppose they're just playing it safe. After all, better to be a little bummed than risk the same fate as that which befell those 57 individuals in 1980.

This coming week will likely be my last chat for the next 20+ years....

I'll be starting my new shift in 2 weeks and I'll be trading from 5p-2:30a EST bad things: less surfing, good things: more money, less likely to get laid off.
