Opinion poll form: by gustafsc

Won't work for me. Get a Java error message, the two fields are missing, and can't move beyond to page 3 without the data entry.

Guess my opinion won't matter (not that it ever did, anyhow).

Opinion Poll ... by stageleft

I reluctantly filled out the poll, and experienced zero errors, so that's good, but I think requiring someone to reveal their salary in order to provide their opinion is not very good. Do you by any chance know why someone would require such a thing?

Anyway, so the Cat's driving fine, there aren't any mobility problems, but the rear window seal is coming off for the fifth time. I've got a dealer visit coming shortly, so I'll address it again, then. And I've got to get them to check the stereo/speakers again. Sound is roaming speaker to speaker when I go over bumps if the volume is less than 13. If the speakers go out, they come back on if I turn it up over 13. Odd.

Later everyone, and Happy Cougaring!

Hey, I heard that Canon is releasing a new model. It's the upgrade to the Rebel 2000, and it's called the Rebel S. And it even comes with an Agassi poster of when he had hair and looked like some lead singer for an 80s Heavy Metal band like Poison.

On a more serious note, I'm debating if I should join the Opinion Panel. They might not wanna hear what I have to say about the demise of the Cougar S. Heck, I don't even wanna get started.

Hey, Stageleft, I usually drive with the radio volume on 3, maybe 4 if I really like the song. How can you have it on 13? I didn't even know it went that high. Man, that's gotta hurt. Your hearing must be the same as Pete Townsend of the Who! ;p

Radio volume by lmigliore

My radio's just like Lefty's. It cuts out below high volume numbers. I have the one with the 6 CD changer and it's not massively loud at full blast. LA Woman sounds just fine at 18 (It's risky to go after LA Women under 18). As I mentioned, I think it's a connector problem; the higher voltages you get at high volume break down the insulating oxide layer between the contacts. It's just no good for listening to string quartets.

Typically, I have the volume set to a listenable 6 or 7 with the AVC on, of course. But when the sound starts travelling, I have to turn it up. I have the first Premium stereo, with Cassette, and CD changer in the hatch.

I agree, LA Woman sounds great above 18, and so does Metallica! Some music is only meant to be listened to LOUD.

It makes sense, Lmigliore, but where do you think the buildup is? They've replaced my head unit twice, and it still does it. I would imagine the way the sound jumps from speaker to speaker that it would have to be in the head unit and not in any of the individual speakers, but since they seem to cut out, it may just be. I think someday I'll replace everything, because I know that folks who have done that have not experienced any problems with music again.

Take care everyone, and Happy Cougaring!

My unsubstantiated opinion is that the problem is in the connections to the speakers. These are subject to considerable temperature swings and probable condensation, promoting corrosion in base-metal contacts. I could verify this by removing the door panels and replacing the connectors with some that I know will work (gold-plated contacts are pretty reliable) but I'm too lazy. Besides, if I got inside the doors to get to the speakers I'd throw the speakers out first.

Recently I purchased a Olympus IS-300 35mm camera. This model has a very nice fixed zoom lens and can either be set manually or fully automatic. Like Skip pointed out, cameras such as this one are great for "Point & Shoot" applications, but are also useful to the individual who wished to be creative.

Good camera for general shooting. Have fun!!!

Personally, having played with this hobby for more than 40 years, I want to have a lot of versatility and be able to accessorize to my hearts content.

Do I use the dummy mode a lot? YES

Do I switch it off or shift the program a lot? YES

Do I spend a lot more money than I should on gadgets and special use tools? YUP

Am I happy doing the above? You betcha!!!!

Is this for everybody? NO!!!

Just like the Cat. Modify, or enjoy as-is. ( But, the Canon is a good choice for a beginner or a step-up from the typical point&shoot systems)

I notice we have nice little US flags now for some of our members. Any chance I can get a Canadian flag with my user name?

So where are you from that you don't get a flag:)
