At this point, I'm highly doubtful of making it to Cougar Fest. July/August is not a good time for me. But let me not totally eliminate myself until I see a firm date on Cougar Fest.

Well, I went over to the CF2 site, checked, and couldn't find me.
So, I signed up

There are now 88 names on the list out of how many thousands of Cougars sold?

I think a one time mailing by Mercury would get a bunch more!!!!!!!! Maybe even fatten up both us and NECO.

The following is the latest email from Brad Lloyd (AKA "Atomisinternet") about Cougar Fest 2001

COUGAR FEST EVENT 2 UPDATES
----------------------------------------------
COUGAR FEST HAS A DATE!
It's official: Friday, July 27 and Saturday, July 28 are the designated days for the event.

Agenda under consideration:
Friday will start between 10:00am and 1:00pm (yet to be decided) at the Flat Rock, MI assembly plant and will involve tours of the plant in operation. Saturday will start between 9:00am and 10:00am and will most likely take place near greenfield village. Saturdays event is for owners to display their vehicle and socialize with other owners. As specifics develop the website will be updated and I'll send out updates.

MAKE SURE YOU ARE REGISTERED
Go to

Cougar Fest

and REGISTER. If you have already registered, make sure you are on the list by checking the WHO section. In order to avoid duplicate emails, I will only send out future updates to those who have registered with the site. If you don't want updates you can always email me and I'll take you off the mailing list. You can always see the latest developments at http://www.cougarfest.com

CREATE/JOIN YOUR STATES CARAVAN
Caravan pages have been started for several states with members already signed up.
If you think you would be interested in driving to Cougarfest with a group visit the CARAVAN section of the website to organize/join a caravan.

HELP PROMOTE COUGARFEST
The reason last years Cougarfest was such a success was the turnout. Cougar owners distributed flyers/cards/web addresses of the event to fellow owners and more and more people registered. If you'd like to help, there will be a printable flyer for the event posted on the website by Friday in PDF format. Various web banners are available in the UPDATES section for online advertising.

In case you haven't noticed, http://www.cougarfest2000.com is also http://www.cougarfest.com. All cougarfest2000.com email forwards to the new cougarfest.com email, and both web addresses point to the same location. Thanks to Dan from Mercury for the additional (and more appropriate) domain.

As always, feel free to email me for any clarification/questions you might have about the event.

!!89 Cougars registered with 5 months to go!!

Cool, now I can firm up my plans.

I still think that a one time mailing from Mercury would help.

I agree. It would be nice, but so would have been the Cougar-S.

Pencil me in as tentative at this point. I want to go but I'm looking at a major project deadline in mid-July. If we run into problems (significant possibility), I'll be lucky to get weekends off during the July-August timeframe.

Lime Rock Park Event Update!! by badulah

All:
The Lime Rock Park trip is only 51 days away!!

At the request of Leo Capaldi and one of my contacts at Ford, I am going to extend an invitation to several local Cougar clubs including a few local chapters of NECO. The invitation will go out in the next few days, so if you have been considering this trip and have not already signed up and booked your accomidations, I suggest you do it before I contact these other clubs. As I have said several million times, rooms are at a premium in this area during the race season. I would hate to see CSG members left out because of a lack of accomidations.
