Good experience. Little hassle on the deal (mostly on the trade value), and, after the long wait for delivery (caused by Mercury's messed up rollout plan), excellent co-operation by the service dept. Good, clean service dept., and repairs/service done on time and without any damage.

Tell 'em I sent you!!

Uptown Motors in Milwaukee, WI -

Gave me a good price with VERY minimal haggling, (and trust me, I did my homework on this one), were patient and answered all of my questions - and I had a lot. All in all, first dealership that I've noticed that works like a sales TEAM rather than a sales competition. I'll let you know about the service department after my first oil change.

Florida, Ocala Ford And Ocala L/M Excellent quick professional,
pricey oil change but I needed one
Florida, Leesburg L/M

Pennsylvania, Lehighton L/M(purchased through) Not so favorable, drilled holes in bumper
have yet to satisfy me with a quality job, tried to fix tilt/slide seat, and lumbar, still defective/inoperable, I'll be going back to finish up with them, and they get another chance.

Thats all.

Bad Dealer:

In all fairness, the salespeople were courteous as were the managers, so that wasn't the problem.

My car's delivery date was delayed three times. Not once did I get a call. I had to call them instead, and when I had trouble reaching them in person (instead of voicemail), I went to the dealer myself to find out the status of my car.

When my car finally came, the dealer added an extra $92 to the price of the car.

So if you wanna be treated nicely while getting shafted, I recommend Park L/M. Otherwise, go elsewhere, preferably online.

As mentioned above (thanks, jimbo_g), Franklin Park did a great job.

They gave me great price without haggling, the salesman, Sandy Mitchell, was very nice and extremely honest. He even gave me his home number and told me to call him day or night if I had any questions or concerns. They got the exact car I wanted in six days. With one exception: it had a c.d. changer, which I didn't order. But they left it in there and didn't charge me a dime for it. So I certainly can't complain.

If anyone knows anybody who lives in the Toledo, OH area or know someone who does and is looking for a Cougar, or any other Lincoln/Mercury, I'd highly recommend them.

Sunnyvale Lincoln/Mercury. They were very courteous when I was buying the car, knew about Cougars and made sure I was happy with it. I also bring the car in for oil changes-no appointment, done in half an hour. If they keep this up I may have to buy a Lincoln from them.

I actually had the opposite experience at Sunnyvale L/M, lmigliore. I went in when the first Cougars came out and they still had the $2K mark-up. I said no way am I going to pay that mark-up and they said ok but refused to budge off MSRP after they "did me a favor" and took off the mark-up. After I starting quoting invoice prices, they pretty much told me to get lost, since they knew I wanted the Cougar and at the time they were the only ones with any in.

I had an OK experience with Steven's Creek L/M, but I ultimately ended up buying from Stanford L/M (more local to me). They were willing to outbid Steven's Creek. They provide decent service work but are not too receptive to obsessive Cougar owners like me. Still, not bad, and friendly sales folk.

Blue Hill Lincoln Mercury, Canton, MA. I bought two cars from them, my Cougar and my wife's Lincoln LS. Dealt with different sales people each time and in both cases got a good price and good service. The Lincoln had a defect on delivery, so the salesman ran it into the shop on the spot and got it fixed before he would hand us the keys. This is a clean, well equipped, no BS dealership.
