You are in the Cougar Support Group Forum. Your Host is pf_flyer

Hey Lefty! Glad to see your still around. How your Cougar? Miles? |

My Cat is great! Except for the marks still on the bumper from the accident and the darn lower weather strip on the outside of the rear glass. I've just crossed 33K on it and it's running like a charm. I've relegated myself to driving in a "dry-weather" setup after seeing Leo race last weekend. By that, I mean: the Firestones have maybe one more rotation on them before I have to replace them. I'm looking at the Nitto NT-450's still as replacements, but I might couple them with new wheels (if I can save the dough). I meant to post in response to your radio question yesterday too (I think it was in the main topic though) but I wanted to let you know that I'm on my second factory head-unit for the same speaker cut-out problem you described. As for the fourth - I'm installing a Sony aftermarket in-dash this weekend. Hopefully that will finally resolve this issue. Take care, and I'll try to post in the main topic if I have time. (there's just so many posts!) Happy Cougaring! |

Lefty: You should also check out Dunlops and Toyos. Both are excellent tires. |

Yeah, after seeing Leo's setup, I'm considering the Toyo Proxies too. However, I'm not quite sure the treadwear is as high as the Nittos. I'll have to do some additional research now. Although the "old standby" is still the BFG Comp T/A KDW's. How are yours running Fredly (before the AutoXing)? |

STAGELEFT. For what it's worth, I absolutely love my Comp T/A's. I've had them about a month and only have about 1000 miles on them, but they are NIGHT AND DAY better than the Firerocks. I don't push them hard and run the door sticker 32psi pressure and they ride, handle and perform perfectly. Check out Tire Rack, they had them for $64.00 on sale. |

KDW's were great.. I have moved into the Kumho Ecsta 712's mainly for price and I wanted to see how they perform...I moved to a 225/50/16 and performance is equal to the KDW's although They seem to track a little more than the KDW's but that may be due to the airpressure, I found them at 40psi the other day... not really adaquate for everyday driving... The Kumho's respond nicely in AutoCrossing... But I'll probably not be running on them in the next event.. as I'll Be ordering new tires shortly... Kumho Victoracers |

Cool, thanks for the updates on tires! I think I can get the KDW's for relatively cheap, and they make them in our inherently rare tire size. I think that the only way I would deviate from the exact replacement size is if I can get some 17" wheels to go with them, but that may have to wait until the next time I have to buy tires. Happy Cougaring! |
