| I know nothing about cars. I am attempting to change the oil in a 2002 Cougar. Where under the front end should I put the jack ? Also, can anyone describe exactly where the oil pan is ? | |

| okay yankabilly, thanks for the instructions on the window motor test!! great advice, i did exactly what you said. i guess the previous owner tried to fix the problem prior to me and did not put all the motor mounting screws back in place and it caused the motor gear to bind up. i removed the motor (after cutting a small section of the door frame, around the motor) put it to the battery and ola' it worked. i replaced the motor to its position, this time installing ALL screws and the drivers side window works like a champ. i went to check the passenger window, it did not work also. but unforunately i could not fix it, due to the fact the motor was GONE! no wonder it won't work...lol so does anyone out there have any advice or resources for the window motors? who or where would be the best place to get a replacement motor? THANKS AGAIN "YANKABILLY"!!!!!!!! | |

Got an 83 LS with a sweet little 302 that simply shuts off without notice. Replaced fuel pump (twice), filter (twice), plugs and wires - and had the 'computer chip' (Duramax?) replaced twice. Now I can't find this 'chip' anywhere - heard it was one of the first engine's outfitted with it but it cuts the flow of electricity to the distributor and it behaves like it's out of fuel. Can anyone tell me where I find a replacement one? Hell, I'm not even sure where I can find it in the engine box... CougarNation |

can't close the trunk lid, tried changeing the remote battery, pulling the handle release inside boot, turning the key in lock . Refuses to allow lid to close 100 % and lock

| mechanic unbolted the solenoid assembly in the bk of the car and removed , then pulled the emergency handle in the trunk. After that the lid closed but could only be unlocked with key. | |
