I have a 2002 Mercury Cougar and I am looking to add performance parts to my car. I wanted to add a performance chip to it but I can't find any that I should use. Where can find performance add ons for my car? Email and let me know.

I call myself buying a 2.0 L/5 speed stick /cougar, 2001 to save me some money on gas and plus it was a nice price by the seller. I just bought my cougar about 2 months ago. Since then I have tinted the windows, installed a nice ass sound system, some ICW 17in. racing rims, custom exaust, and I have a K&N performance air filter and a Weapon R Cold air intake ordered and should be at my doorstep by tomorrow...but what else can I do for more power for my weak ass 2.0L engine!!!? but I got to admit the gas milage it nice

I just bought my wife a 99 cougar and the moonroof won't open. The sliding mech. is broke. Do I have to replace the whole assembly? Where can I get a new one? Maybe one that is glass.

You may also want to post your question in the Cougar Support Group: General Maintenance discussion as it seems to have a bit more activity than this thread.

Best of luck!

odd question about transmissions by swakefield

Ok, this is going to be an odd question, but I am wanting opinions on the best way to do this.
I have a v6 motor and auto trans from a 99 cougar and I am putting it in a boat, a 78 ski nautique.
So having said that I need all the power to be applied to one output shaft only (drivers side) or equally to both would be ok too.
So I have two thoughts the first is to make some kind of plate for the passenger side that keeps the output shaft on that side from moving. The other option is to go into transmission and modify it somehow (like welding the spyder gears in a chunk). Anybody have a clue?

I was an early member of the CSG. I posted one of the first posts in this thread #3 (my nick was dgeminii then).

Since I last posted in this thread Nov of 2001 there have only been 11 posts here...sigh.

The CSG used to be one of the hottest groups in Edmunds. Too bad a pretty good car was abandoned by Ford.

I drove my Cougar for almost 7 years. Other than a broken throttle, which may have been my fault, I had no mechanical issues whatsoever. I was looking at a Cougar today, made me wish I had kept mine.

Oh well, enough walking down memory lane. My current car is a 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe Se. It is a great car, and a much better family car than my old Cougar, however, it is the same color....silver!

Hello all. I am a new member to your group and pleased to know there are other owners out there. My question is this. Has anyone been able to apply vent shades, Air vents, Rain guards or any other name this could possibly fall under on your 99 and up Cougar? I have searched numerous web sites and sent countless e-mails ncluding this one to find any answer. No has even answered my e-mails with a similar vehicle to the 99 and up Cougar with the possible same dimensions. So I turn to all of you for help.

Thanks

Hey,
The cost to repair your moonroof completely from factory costs or dealership costs, puts you at about $500.00. If it makes a noise when you press the button, your motor for the moonroof is fine. The moonroof on my car slid off track, I know people around me who can fix it for a maximum of $250.00min. maybe $200.00. Your better off finding the lowest cost at an automotive shop and have them fix the track. If you can't here anything on that motor, then your guess to fix something could result in alot of money. Just have them check it out, that's the best anyone could tell you. because there are only two major thiings that could go wrong, the track and the motor. you make the call.

Hey everyone,
I am also a new member. I have searched everywhere for any kind of performance upgrades and anything with the body, excluding Air intakes and exhausts and bodykits.
These ventshades, WTF, I really need them for my car. How about interior styling,(neons don't matter, got the hook up). What about underneath the hood, the engine bay, Fluid caps(oil, coolant, transmission, etc.) I have searched and searched. Here is a real one, the damn headlights, who has a headlight that won't work or is offset from the driving setting. I want everything you got. .
