Replying to: joe_2476 (Jun 13, 2007 5:27 am) i also have a 2002 mazda tribute(leased) the air bag light came on we took it to the dealer and they fixed it(computer sensor). the lease is up in september new problem power steering pump leaking ,needs replacing. dealer wants to charge over 700.00 to fix it. i checked the pump price less then 50.00 the rest would be labor. i am having my own machanic check it out. i will be returning the car in less then 2 moonths. only has 39,000 miles. nver had any other problems.

Hi everyone! I'm new to the forum. I'm purchasing my new to me Tribute tomorrow if all goes well with the 2nd test drive. On my first, and my boyfriend's separate test drive, we noticed a whine. The salesman drove it and sent it to the shop for a bearing replacement. I need to drive it again to see if I can still detect the sound. Also, I asked if all of the recalls on the '03 Tribute were addressed. I got a less than thrilling response: "The shop checks for all of those things before we sell it to you." I guess I am looking for some advice on this before I purchase it. Please respond and wish me luck too!   ErinnZooms

I have called mazda canada a number of times and have complained to the dealer. They won't do nothing about it. Its been in the shop a number of times but the problem keeps coming back.I can't even sell it cause no one wants this problem. Replying to: toshust (Sep 09, 2007 12:08 pm) im not sure if this is a good remedy for the airbag indicator but this is what i did to my 2005 tribute and since then i had no more blinking airbag indicator --locate a plug/connector(dont what its called)underneath the driver and passenger seat. My 2001 Mazda Tribute front bumper has been damaged and needs to be repainted, problem is I cannot find the paint code for this, the top color is Desert Metallic and the bumper is a darker brown. Can anyone help me with this?

I also took it to a local machanic who could not figure it out too. I am still experiencing the same stalling problem and shaking. What did you do to resolve your problem. Replying to: zba521 (Oct 29, 2007 7:52 am) I too have had this problem over and over since I got the Tribute new in 2001, with two dealerships reportedly "fixing" it too many times to count, or I'll just get myself aggravated.   I'd heard about your method to resolve this, but never tried it. When I looked under my two seats, I see two of these plastic connectors under each seat - a total of four of them - that are large yellow and white plastic. Are these what you're referring to?   By the way, I also now have the same stalling/idling problem you do, with the Check Engine light on, and my mechanic is somewhat stumped.   Thanks.
