Mazda Tribute, SUV
Feb 13, 2004 (7:10 am)
They will put it on their website when the 2004 are reduced....that is up to consumers. If the consuemrs buy alot of tributes this weekend, I suspect they will ship soon.....if not they will hold them longer. It's all about the sales. It makes no sence to ship the 05's and then force mazda to add additional incentives to the 04. There is no huge pent up demand for the 05 yet and the Ford and Mercury versions are not appearing soon either. The Mercury Mariner wont even show up until the fall.
#1361 of 1866 2005 Tribute DX. Better 4-cyl engine!
Feb 18, 2004 (10:53 am)
I currently own a 2003 DX (4-cyl). I love everything about it except for the engine. Unfortunetly the noisy and underpowered 2.0L engine spoils it. Basically it's a great car with a horrible engine. The 2005 model has a new 2.3L 153HP engine and EPA 24-29MPG.

I am looking at buying an suv. Has your purchase of the tribute been a good decision or would you go with the competition if you were to do it over. I've looked at jeeps, toyotas, mitsubishis etal. Can you recommend the tribute as a good choice to purchase? Thanks.
#1363 of 1866 Edmunds' 2005 Tribute info
Feb 21, 2004 (5:53 am)
It's interesting to note that the 2005 Trib photos now on Edmunds' site still show the column shifter. Are these 2004 model photos maybe, even though they're labeled as 2005? Or are they very early 2005 model photos with the floor console shifter coming soon?
Feb 23, 2004 (7:47 am)
edmunds got it wrong, not to surprising. All 2005's have the floor shifter

We ran stale MPV photos for a while - must be a Mazda thing around here

#1366 of 1866 Need more/any '05 info.
Feb 24, 2004 (9:36 am)
I see that the Mazda site has the prices for the '05's up, but no other information, even under their "Upcoming Vehicles" tab. Edmunds has photos, but they're un-updated '04 photos showing a column shifter? So, where can I get '05 info. if not for Edmunds or Mazdausa ? Is there any plans for a hybrid Tribute to match the Escape? P.S. Why is it so hard to get Mazda info.? I had to search Japanese websites when I was researching my '04 MPV, meanwhile I'm hit in the face w/ advertising for the Freestar, other ads from GM, Nissan, etc. I guess they're too busy pushing the "3"?

Maybe someone will have some rumors at the chat tonight - starts in about ~45 minutes and the link is on the left.
#1369 of 1866 Captions on the 2005 Mazda Tribute photos at Edmunds
Feb 24, 2004 (9:01 pm)
The caption data on the 2005 Mazda Tribute incorrectly portrays the 2004 vehicle and interior components as the 2005 model. Edmunds is aware of this error and is making the necessary changes for the next website refresh.
In this instance, the caption data was moved automatically and programmatically from the OEM information, which incorrectly stated the photoset as the 2005 production model year. This sometimes happens when manufacturers create and distribute press/media/photographic information long before the actual model launch, which may or may not end up being the model year indicated in the original press material. Look for the updated captions early next week. We're sorry for the inconvenience. Thanks to everyone who contacted Customer Support!
