Replying to: kara5272 (Oct 25, 2007 6:29 pm) Yes, there are two seals or O-Rings for the overdrive piston in your transmission. If they are worn they need to be replaced. Since the speed range you mentioned between 55-75 will engage the overdrive, this is a area that could cause the problem. The short answer is to service the Overdrive Clutch Unit. That will require the transmission to be removed and this unit removed to be rebuilt. Inside this unit it has many seals and O-Rings that affect the overdrive unit. Here is the list: Overdrive Clutch-Clutch Pack Worn- rebuild of clutch pack Overdrive Piston or Seal malfunction-Either a worn piston or seal(Transmission must be disassembled) Overdrive Piston-Retainer Bleed Orifice worn (Transmission must be disassembled) Overdrive Shift valve,Timing Valve or accumulator malfunction- Valve body has worn accumulator seals requires overhaul of valve body Only two conditions require the transmission to be disassembled. Either way it is not going to be cheap. I would replace the filter and fluid immediately and drive under the same conditions you mentioned as see if that corrects the problem.  If not then the other issues need to be explored further.

Can someone tell me what all the differences between the 07 and 08 nav are? other than the hard drive. Thanks.

I have seen nav systems that all they do is nav and I have seen some that will give you info about the car, control the temperature, etc. So I want to know, is it worth spending the money on an 08 with nav if nav is a very important feature to me? or will the 07 with nav do just fine for me?

Replying to: casolorz (Nov 14, 2007 1:12 pm) Only you can decide if it's worth it or not. For me it was. MyGig navigation and bluetooth is very cool (and free at the moment due to a Jeep promotion). The hard drive should be faster than the DVD version. Plus you can upload your own songs. However, I never used the 07 Navi. The HID lights were a must for me, so the 07 was not even an option. For you the lights might not be as important. The interior is supposed to be nicer in the 08s than in the 07s. I didn't see the 07, but I quite like the 08. Finally, I got the new generation 4.7L, which is more powerful and more efficient than the 07. For me, it was a no brainer decision to go with the 08. For you? I have no idea. You can't go wrong either way.

Is the 4.7L e85 always or do you have to request it like that? On the old jeep I think you had the option for it not to be e85 at no cost which I never understood why wouldn't you want it to also do e85 if it was the same cost.

I am strongly considering a 2008 GC Limited. However, I know that they have had a long running problem with front brake rotors warping. Does anyone know if this problem still exists? Harlan
