The most common thing I've been told about a sticking throttle problem is due to throttle body being dirty (where the valvle opens and closes). This isn't to bad to do, the air intake duct that comes from the air filter housing and plugs into the front top of the engine (the only really big duct connected to the eng.) has to be loosened, moved forward and out of the way, and this will expose the 'flapper' type valve where you can take some cleaner and a rag and wipe the soot away as best you can.

Another thing that comes to mind is the throttle control. I'm trying to remember my friends '99, but I think it is a cable control, looking back on your post, is that what the IAC was - the interconnect cable? If it doesn't have a cable / pulley device on the upper front of the motor that moves when you press the throttle, then you have what mine (2001) has and is a vacuum type control. if this is the case, it might be something as simple as one of the control lines having a small slit in it or a small piece of trash in the line. these lines can be a bit of a booger to get to as they sit behind the upper intake area, might need to use a flashlight and mirror.

Hope that helps

Hello, I have an isuzu rodeo 2001, I bougth it on june 2007, the check engine light came on, I took it to an advance auto part, they did a diagnose and it came up with a sensor named camshaft positioning sensor, I bought it, replaced it, the light went off, but now it keeps coming on and off, also the air bag light keeps coming on and off, what can I do about this? And last, but not least, my truck is manual, so whenever I want to change gears its kind of hard, specially the reverse, and I have noticed that the clutch is not as hard as it should be. Where does the clutch liquid refill is located?

2002 Rodeo Sport Keyless remote stopped locking and unlocking rear door by car114

Recently the keyless remote stopped unlocking or locking the rear door on 2002 Rodeo Sport. The remote continues to function on the two passenger doors. It will lock the two passenger doors if the rear door has been locked with the key and in turn will only unlock the passenger doors if the rear door has been unlocked by the key. Any thoughts on what to do to correct this would be most appreciated

Error code T0507 1999 Isuzu Rodeo by sphyle

I have the above error code T0507 on my 1999 Isuzu Rodeo and I was told be the shop that looked at it that I have to bring it to the dealer to get this fixed...the shop that looked at it said that they did all the things it said to do before bringing it in, cleaning some things and so forth, but that was Friday and now today and yesterday it did the same thing, the RPM's get stuck (or that's what it seems like to me-I am a girl so bare with me). Can anyone tell me what I need to do, if the dealer really is the only one that can fix it and if so....is it going to make my bank account down to nothing?
Thank you so much in advance for all the help.

1994 Rodeo Belt/Pulley Problems by tsuraco

Ok, my 1994 Isuzu Rodeo LS (P.O.S.) broke two belts in the engine yesterday.

A) I don't know how to move stuff around in there to replace the belts.

B) Someone told me there may be pulley issues & I don't know how to check those or where to look, as the P.O.S. didn't come with an owners manual.

C) I've had a 'squeeling' noise for the last few weeks/month every time I start the car, which usually stops after a few minutes. Yesterday, after the noise stopped, all of a sudden the gas, battery & one other indicator all came on & will not go off. I know for a fact that this isn't true, 'cause I have half a tank of gas & the battery seems fine.

Help!!

1997 Isuzu Rodeo - Electrical Problem by brown703

I have a 97 Isuzu Rodeo 3.2 V6. About 2wks ago alternator belt broke. While able to drive it home, had no fan blower, brake light was on, as well as battery light. Replaced belt and all went away.

2 days ago, battery light on again and same brake light and no fan blower. Replaced alternator with reman from Advanced Auto, still same problems. Alternator tested fine on the bench, but fails test while in vehicle. Advanced Auto suggested factory alternator vs. reman! Anyone had this problem?

Jasen; I have a 97 Rodeo with nearly the same problem. I have replaced the alternator, however heard that a factory original alternator does the trick. I have ordered a Beck/Arnley alternator and waiting on its arrival to try it. Have you any solution to your problem?
