Hi, I have a 1999 isuzu rodeo and have been having idle issues, seems like the throttle gets stuck (I am a girl so bare with me on the mechanic terms) so I brought it in the day that I thought I was going to hit my building at work because it didn't want to stop. Of course when I brought it in it was idling fine, but the repair work said "found IAC was sticking, cleaned and lubricated" which didn't fix it. This morning while driving the throttle, idle what have you, stuck again luckily it was right by the station I first brought it to, they are now going to look at it and let me know. So..I am waiting, but what I have come to the conclusion with it is: it seems when I start it and let it run (warm up) it will run fine but if I start it and take off it will idle high and seems like the throttle gets stuck and I stop put it in park and the rpm's are over 2 in idling and then come back down after a couple of minutes...I am hoping that it's nothing major, I am a single mom...any ideas as to what this could be? Or if someone else has experienced this? Thank you so much in advance for your help/opinion.

Replying to: rjeptha3 (Mar 19, 2008 8:33 am) I changed mine out with a Duralast from Autozone, but am probably going to do it again around 100K with either an OEM or Napa belt just to make sure the quality is top of the line. I'll give you some pointers if you'd like from my experience (just done 2, but know a few tricks). |

Replying to: sphyle (Mar 21, 2008 6:57 am) Another thing that comes to mind is the throttle control. I'm trying to remember my friends '99, but I think it is a cable control, looking back on your post, is that what the IAC was - the interconnect cable? If it doesn't have a cable / pulley device on the upper front of the motor that moves when you press the throttle, then you have what mine (2001) has and is a vacuum type control. if this is the case, it might be something as simple as one of the control lines having a small slit in it or a small piece of trash in the line. these lines can be a bit of a booger to get to as they sit behind the upper intake area, might need to use a flashlight and mirror. Hope that helps |

Hello, I have an isuzu rodeo 2001, I bougth it on june 2007, the check engine light came on, I took it to an advance auto part, they did a diagnose and it came up with a sensor named camshaft positioning sensor, I bought it, replaced it, the light went off, but now it keeps coming on and off, also the air bag light keeps coming on and off, what can I do about this? And last, but not least, my truck is manual, so whenever I want to change gears its kind of hard, specially the reverse, and I have noticed that the clutch is not as hard as it should be. Where does the clutch liquid refill is located?

| Recently the keyless remote stopped unlocking or locking the rear door on 2002 Rodeo Sport. The remote continues to function on the two passenger doors. It will lock the two passenger doors if the rear door has been locked with the key and in turn will only unlock the passenger doors if the rear door has been unlocked by the key. Any thoughts on what to do to correct this would be most appreciated | |

I have the above error code T0507 on my 1999 Isuzu Rodeo and I was told be the shop that looked at it that I have to bring it to the dealer to get this fixed...the shop that looked at it said that they did all the things it said to do before bringing it in, cleaning some things and so forth, but that was Friday and now today and yesterday it did the same thing, the RPM's get stuck (or that's what it seems like to me-I am a girl so bare with me). Can anyone tell me what I need to do, if the dealer really is the only one that can fix it and if so....is it going to make my bank account down to nothing? Thank you so much in advance for all the help. ~Sarah |

Ok, my 1994 Isuzu Rodeo LS (P.O.S.) broke two belts in the engine yesterday. A) I don't know how to move stuff around in there to replace the belts. B) Someone told me there may be pulley issues & I don't know how to check those or where to look, as the P.O.S. didn't come with an owners manual. C) I've had a 'squeeling' noise for the last few weeks/month every time I start the car, which usually stops after a few minutes. Yesterday, after the noise stopped, all of a sudden the gas, battery & one other indicator all came on & will not go off. I know for a fact that this isn't true, 'cause I have half a tank of gas & the battery seems fine. Help!!
