Just got an '05 Z-71 w/navigation. Great vehicle but i have a question. The doors lock either at speed or when you shift out of park.....anyway to disable this and lock the doors when/where you want to?
couldn't find anything in the manual that says you can disable it....you can only choose at speed or when you engage the t'mission.

Yes, on your steering wheel push the button that looks like an arrow. Read through the info on the odometer and keep pushing the arrow until you come up to the automatic Door Lock. You can set it to lock only when the key is put in, have it on a delay for different amount of seconds, or have the doors lock only when out of park. There are many different features that you can set in this area and all the other areas as well. Once you get to the area you want to set, push the button above the arrow to read the different settings. When you find the setting you like, then push the arrow button. I suggest you read through them all and set everything the way you would like them. Good Luck.

no option for not locking at all.

Did you get an owner's manual with it? It spells it out in detail.

No it doesn't. He wants to disable the autolocks all together. As far as I know it can't be done. Lots of variations on when it will automatically lock or unlock, but nothing disabling the feature altogether.

Thats right....you can go thru the DIC or go thru an insane procedure of pulling the turn signal/high beam lever, cutting the ignition switch on/off twice, then pushing the lock button 1-4 times to program the un-lock configuration. There is nothing that says how to simply lock the doors on your own without the car doing it for you.

I just found the exact same problem with my '97 yesterday after diconnecting from my trailer. Did you ever find the fix for this? Thanks.
