#5340 of 6471 Onstar Problems
Jun 28, 2005 (6:28 am)
I have a 2001 Chevy Tahoe and have no green blinking light.Onstar said it looked like there is no power and suggested taking it to the dealer. I have no problem with that accept I don't want to take it in just to hear it was a fuse. Does anyone know where the fuse is so I might test the fuse link so not to waste a mechanics time for a simple problem.

#5343 of 6471 Question on rear differential service '04 Yukon
Jun 28, 2005 (8:54 pm)
Those of you who have seen my posts elsewhere in the town hall know that I have a lot of years working in and around things mechanical (though my field is electronics)
But when did GM stop requiring the differential fluid in limited slip units be replaced at regular intervals? I was thinking that the wife's Yukon was due at 30K, but according to the owners manual the fluid is to be checked only, not replaced. I do know that synthetic fluid is now used and does not require the limited slip additive, but no where in the maintenance is there a drain/refill interval given.
#5344 of 6471 AC Buzz/vibration
Jun 28, 2005 (9:41 pm)
MY 2005 Yukon's AC buzzes and vibrates while I'm idleing. Its not extremely bad, but its too much for a brand new truck, and just enough to be annoying (my 2001 'Hoe did the same.)
Anyone else have this problem? Has there ever been any TSB's on this
BTW< I really love my 2005 Yukon. We had a loaded 01 Tahoe and this is everything we liked in the 'Hoe and many small improvements I think the single best option is the captains chair 2nd row. It really makes the 3rd row useful. We have 2 kids in car seats, and with old style bench, we would have to take out a car seat to access the third row, so we rarely kept it in. (We could have put one in the center, but havng a young brother and sister that close just doesn't work) Now the 3rd row is much more accessible with the center walk through. I love the steering wheel controls and the whole entertainment system being integrated. XM, Rear seat audo and the 6 disc CD and traditional radio, all using the same buttons, just great! Mirrors that adjust to you seat settings- simple but not avail way back in 2001 The optional 17" rims are great looking, and I feel a much better design than the more upscale design available on the Denali. Note: We took home a Denali XL with the 20" rims for a 24 hour test drive. The 20 inchers look great, but you feel a LOT more of the road imperfections, So make sure you drive it before you take it home We also liked the simple more functional console top of the Yukon over the Smoth top Denali that you cant put your wallet or phone on Overall , Love the truck, and it should be interesting to see what they do with the next generation, fold into flor 3rd row seats will be a great addition OK< enuff of my ranting, Back to the AC issue I opened up with Rich

My front wipers only work on High..delay and low setings are dead, so I bought a new pulse module from the dealership ($100). Its supposed to plug in on top of the wiper motor but I can't find the motor. Can someone please point me in the right direction. Thanks in advance.

I dunno, but the synthetic fluid shouldn't need changed for a long time. If pretty much anything can make it to 100k miles, I don't think it gets recommended by the book. I'd probably think about replacing it at 100k miles.
#5347 of 6471 How and where do I install a 6 dic changer in my 2005 z71 Tahoe?
Jul 04, 2005 (3:42 pm)
I would like to install a 6 disc changer in my 2005 z71 Tahoe. This truck has the Navigation, xm, dvd player option. Can a 6 disc changer be installed unobtrusively and simply into this truck? If so, how?
#5348 of 6471 Change Oil Message?
Jul 04, 2005 (7:24 pm)
I recently changed the oil myself on my Yukon... instead of taking to the garage.. Any idea how to reset the change oil message in the warning light in the dash?

If it works like my Wife's old 2002 Tahoe, put the key in the on position (engine not on) press the accelerator 3-5 times with 5 seconds. This will reset the oil monitor system.
Read owners manual for specific if this does not help!!
