I am very interested in the 2007 Sequoia. I have a ten year old Explorer I want to replace. I hope it will hold together until the release of the new model. I have a 2002 Sequoia with about 46,000 miles on it and have been very happy with it.
High on my wish list for the 2007 model would be third row seats that fold flat into the floor. It is a pain to take out and store them when extra space is needed.
Also, because the new Tundra is bigger, I hope that this will not translate into a bigger Sequoia. I can just barely get my 2002 into the garage now. I am glad I have the electric folding mirrors!
I think that the lack of response to your posts is due to a dearth of information from Toyota. When leaks of information about the new model start, this board will light up again.

I am not sure if my cable or plastic is broken. The latch still has spring action, but the latch has been difficult to open at times. And my hatch won't open. And the inside is packed full of stuff that can't come out the side doors.
I can see the white plastic you referrenced down inside the door by looking through the gap at the top of the window. I can also move the inner latch with a screwdriver.
If you think that my cable is broke, do you think that I could activate the cable release somehow with a screwdriver?

I own a black 2006 Sequoia. Is there a clearcoat applied to the exterior paint?

Anyone had this done yet? I am at 118K and recently have noted an issue with my engine. Have never towed, but the engine now sounds like I am towing a boat or something - almost diesel like sound/heavy ticking noise under moderate acceleration. Continues to tick (but goes away) after you let off the accelerator. Have done all of the sevices to date and 3,000 mile oil changes. Hope it's not serious, but it is definitely abnormal. Anyone else experience engine or valve issues to date?

Did you try Red Line fuel injector cleaner and Auto-RX?
I had that problem started at 36K. It is now 45K, going smoother than ever...
#8793 of 8984 2002 Sequioa engine knock
Apr 03, 2006 (6:44 am)
I have a 2002 Sequoia with 25,400 miles that has increased engine knock / slap upon exertion, like going up a slight incline. Any ideas, as when I had it checked at Toyota they said that it may be carbon build up and just to add some fuel additive, which I did and it made no difference.

I did run a three part cleaner through and didn't seem to make a difference. I will try the Red line and auto-rx.

A large local newspaper is looking to interview consumers who purchased a Lexus, Toyota or Scion vehicle and what led you to purchase that vehicle. Please send an e-mail to ctalatiedmunds.com no later than Wednesday, April 5, 2006 containing your daytime contact information, along with the make and model your vehicle.

Thanks, I will consider that. But from doing some research, I think it could be a cracked exhaust manifold - which is something these V-8s are known for. I will be taking it to my independent guy in the next week or so and will update the board then.
