I am having some problems with my Trooper. It will run for a couple of miles then the engine light comes on and the vehicle completely stops. If I sit for like 5 minutes and try and start it again it runs for a couple of miles and then stops again. This just started yesterday afternoon. Can someone help me try to diagnose this problem? Thanks, |

Need Help! I have a 2001 Trooper S, 3.5, auto, TODD, 80,000 miles. My problem is non functioning cabin heating/cooling fan. This model had the auto thermostat feature. The coil is heating. Any suggestions? My nearest dealer is 100 miles. Thanks.

Good place to start...........check if battery is being charged with a VOM meter at least at 13.6 volts with engine running. If not, new alt is probably needed. Engine will quit when voltage drops to 9 or so volts. HTH One guys opinion.
