2004 MDX Touring price by ckalola

hello. i'm in the market for a 2004 MDX touring. i've found 1 in my area that is a white/beige touring model with dvd system and 38050 miles. it is acura certified and the dealer has listed is for 26995, but offered it via e-mail to me for 25200. my question is what would be a fair price for this car...i know it's difficult to answer w/o seeing it, but it is in very good cosmetic condition (no major scratches, dents, no carpet/leather stains). the carfax is clean with no reported accidents. the dealer did, however, state the left front fender was repainted at some point, but the fender is original (not replaced). what price-point would you suggest i aim for? thanks in advance for your help! also, if another forum would serve me better, please let me know.

Being an owner of an '04, I can say that you would be hard pressed to find a better vehicle. It has definitely been the best vehicle I have owned up to this point. KBB and edmunds list their CPO prices as 29,600 and 27,600 respectively. I would be wary of the painted fender. Can you tell if it was repainted? Just because a car has a clean "carfax" doesn't mean it was never in an accident.

it was repainted. a car wholesaler friend of mine came with me and he brought a paint metering device which showed him it was repainted; he (or i) couldn't tell by just looking at it. he got underneath and under the hood and assured me that the fender itself was the factory original...it had not been replaced (the factory stickers were still on it without the telltale red dot indicating it was factory metal); but, indeed, it was repainted. he concluded that since the metal was original, whatever reason it was repainted for probably didn't include a major collision. shall i use this as a bargaining chip? what do you think about the price he's offered me of 25200? thanks.

That seems like a very reasonable price for the vehicle and mileage. Did the dealer tell you the fender was painted? What does he have to say about this? Also, 38k miles the car may be due for tires all the way around if they haven't been replaced already.

Remote starter by upstatedoc

Has anyone installed a remote starter on their pre-07 MDX and if so which brand? When I bought the vehicle the dealer steered me away from installing one because it would interfere w/ the security system. However, now the '04 sits in the driveway because I don't have enough room in the garage. Damn it's getting cold out!

Hi gang, I need to replace my wife's truck in the next two months. We would like to get a 05/06 model. Have any of you purchased these model years recently, and if so, how much did you paid? Those who have already one, any problems? are you overall satisfied with the truck?

I also want to get the 7 years, 100,000 powertrain warranty, is that automatically included when you buy a CPO MDX or do I need to get a separate extended warranty.

Thanks a lot in advance for your responses.

p.s. Also, if you know of a good and reputable acura dealer in NJ or NYC metro area, please let me know. Thanks again

2005 MDX Touring Price Paid by badgerfan89

Just bought a black on black 2005 MDX Touring with both Navigation and RES with ~ 57k miles for ~ $24100. Other than the high miles, the vehicle is in excellent condition. It was a 1-owner trade-in that I believe the dealership just wanted to get rid of before the end of 2007. Was mostly focusing on '04's due to pricing, but couldn't pass it up because it was such a great deal (trade-in via edmunds TMV in excellent condition is ~ $25k). Wanted the silver exterior with black interior, but was willing to make a concession due to the great deal.

BTW, there is another one (2005 MDX touring with Nav, RES, and towing package - priced $23,995) with ~ 64k miles located in the Milwaukee, WI area. I found it the same time I found mine via Autotrader (this one is located at a place named Car King). Colors are burgandy exterior with tan interior. Using the provided pictures as reference, looks to be in really good condition. Here's the link:

Best of luck to you all in your searching!

Hello All:

Found a 2005 MDX touring with nav & RES w/ 38K miles. Dealer (toyota dealer) asking $23,900. Looks and drives great, but missing the nav disc. Is there anything else I should look at before making offer?

Thanks

Are they the original tires? I had to replace mine 40k miles. It'll run you 600-700 dollars to replace w/ the michelins. Other than new brakes 50k miles the vehicle has been bullet proof.

I have the MDX Touring with out NAV, etc. Lease expires 7/8/08. With 22,000 miles have to decide on next move. No problems. Also bullet proof so far. Lease buy out is $24,600 with Honda Finance. Hate to give back 10-12,000 miles. Based on the problems owners on this site have with the 2007 - 2008, may not consider another MDX if the buy out is still too high in July. Just move on to another SUV based on pricing and reliability, etc. Have 80,000 on a 2000 RL with no major problems, had the extended warranty which helped on wheel bearings and emission part replacements.
Tires and brakes are usual and customary between 35,000-45,000 miles. May want to be sure the differential and transmission fluids were changed on the MDX
