Engine Reving by kharris4

Hello. I have a 2002 Aztek, bought it barely used in 02. I've not had too many issues with it. But just this week, I noticed two things.

1. Puddles of liquid on the front floorboards. Clear, no smell. They don't go away either. Constantly seeping. AC seems to be working fine.

2. One afternoon, started the car, and the RPMs were reving up high, at around 2100. The car, engaged in D will move without pushing the gas. At a light, I have to disengage it to N to keep from fighting brakes/transmission.

Hooked it up to the code/reader. The codes came back unknown for Aztek, but were similiar to other vehicles. The first issue being an evaporator problem. What is responsible for that?
The second..I think they said was the Electronic Control Module?? Would that be right?

Also- checked the throttle cable, it's not stuck and working properly.

Husband is rather automotively capable of making the repairs himself, just checking to see if anyone had this issue.
Thanks!

kharris4,
Problem 2 sounds like the TPS "throttle position sensor", should be an easy fix.
However, problem 1 I don't know, my 2003 does the same thing, maybe somebody else can help.

I purchased a 2002 Pontiac Aztek the first week of August this year. I have been most impressed by the handeling, the gas mileage, and the interior room. BUT, I have took the car 3 times to get oil put in. I am concerned because it is not leaking oil, it is burning it. The car has 103,000 miles on it. I have took it to 2 different mechanics trying to see what the problem is. They say it's either a huge problem or a little one ?? That doesn't help me out right now. The dealership will do nothing to help me find out what's wrong with it because it doesn't have a warranty. Like I said, no leaks, no smoke coming from the car at all. it's just like someone is stealing the oil!! Has anyone had any problems like this or can give me any advice??

If you get 2 replies send me a message about the tent pack too - I am looking for the tent only - not the air mattress- ones from Canadian Tire fit right in.
I'll keep looking but like you who wants to go to the dealer and get ripped off.

Have a 2001 Aztek with 226576 km on it and other than electrical and the dumb check engine lite have never had problems with the car. Changed oil (use synthetic only) and the service recommendation indicated transmission service - change trany fluid - after reading how many problems people have had is there any recommendations out there. Have the standard 6 cyl 3.4l F1 engine not AWD.

So my wife is driving to work this morning and all of the sudden the tek just stops running. I go to pick her up and check it out and it will turn over and it seemed to run for a second VERY rough and then shut down. everything seem connected under the hood and was running great before this. It has 64000 on it. With out a scan tool it's kinda tought to figure out but right now I'm thinking that it may be the cam or crank sensor. Any thoughts?

Tough to tell, could be a lot of things. I have seen a few issues recently involveing the C305 connector and its connection to fuel pump (just a thought)

I'll check for spark later. This thing is starting to piss me off. I've owned for a little under 2 years now and I've replaced both front wheel bearings, Idler pully, the cd player just stopped working, and now this. I'm pondering selling this thing now. Just so I know, where is the c305 connector just so I can check that too?
