I'm happy for you ya, good for you, you're 1 of the lucky ones(now you can enjoy your ride).....I loved my 08 Sahara....But after the Leak specialist(not affiliated with the dealership) & Jeeps own Technician(not associated with the dealership) changed every weather stripping, every seal that deals with the roof could not stop the leak, I'm kinda glad they couldn't fix....To many hands all over the place...Once again I'm glad the situations over....
Are you going to take the top off at anytime or are you going to be scared that any movement of the roof might cause the leak to start again??....If they had stopped the leaks on mine, I was never going to remove the panels in fear of the dreaded leak....

Hey, guys. Haven't been in here for a while. Here's the skinny: almost to the DAY that I paid off my Jeep, my building started getting broken into. Theft from cars, and vandalism to cars. The Jeep is a sitting duck, but so far i've been fortunate. Nothing too too bad: snapped antennae and sliced windows. (And before anyone asks, yes, i've removed everything from my jeep and leave the compartments unlocked.) I've searched and read about alarms in this discussion as best i could, and totally agree that by and large they are useless. But in my unique scenario, I think it will help. Need something loud to scare the delinquents out of my garage and away from my Jeep, or at least alert me they are there. Qudratech has a basic $80.00 cheapee. Will also look at Viper. I know Mopar makes alarms, but had trouble finding them, even via the Jeep site.
My price range is anywhere from zero to $500.00.

Make sure all steering components are tight (trackbar, tierod, etc). If they are, check alignment to see if they are set properly. You may also have a steering pump going bad.

Yes, yes, the animal solution occurred to me. Was actually leaning towards a snarling, hissing wolverine.
Came across a Bulldog alarm system, Jeep (well, convertible) specific. W/ interior motion sensor. Has all the bells and whistles I think would be effective and can get it for $100.00. Anyone have any experience w/ this alarm?

Mine too! I just bought it Wednesday. It has 30 miles on it. I had to take it back the next morning. I won't get it back until Tuesday because they have to order the updated seal kit. Sounds like a well known problem. I asked them to just put a different top on it from a new one. They said they can't put a USED (30 miles) top on a new car and there is no guarantee the new top won't have the same issue. Nothing like buying a new car and not being able to drive it for a week.
#22979 of 23397 interested in a wrangler

As the title says, I am going to buy a Wrangler, but first, I want to talk to people who have bought wranglers in the past.
here are my main questions:
1) I drive a 2005 Dodge Neon SXT, 5-speed manual, and I have never driven a manual SUV. Is it much different than that of a sports car?
2) Pros and Cons of the 2007-2008 Wrangler?
3) We also own a 2005 Jeep liberty, Special Edition, 3.7L 4X4, 5-speed manual. Does the 2008 Wrangler drive anything like the 2005 Liberty?
Please answer ASAP!

Feb 01, 2008 (9:40 am)
Okay, so here's the deal.
We own a 2005 Jeep Liberty, Limited Edition, 3.7L V6. WE LOVE IT. But we gave it to our daughter when she turned 16, in 2005.
My son is turning 16 in september of this year, and he wants a Jeep Wrangler, and he told us that he wants us to surprise him. I know he likes black, and hard/soft top, but I have no idea WHATSOEVER on what options to choose, nor the trim. Please help!
