I hear ya about the joys of paying off Thelma Jane. I couldn't believe how good it felt when we sent in the last payment on my Noble Black Steed and then even better to actually receive the pink slip! Well, I can't call it a pink slip any more - California has changed their titles so they are multi colored - no longer just pink.

gman - I don't know what time you are planning on leaving tomorrow, but you should be OK coming up the Grapevine. Check the CHP web site before you leave (the CHP office in Lebec is under Bakersfield). Be careful and take it easy around Gorman!

Way to go. Sounds like someone got out of bed on the lucky side. In another 60 months I'll be paying off Amy. Man that's a long time. Oh well.... it's all worth it

Congrats on being free and clear (on Thelma Jane)! I've been there before and it's a great feeling. Of course, now we'll both get to relive that feeling in... oh... probably another 60 months!

- I'll check out CPNR and see if they have anything to track a rail car with... will update if I can find anything.

I also own Pepe' free and clear. It is a wonderful feeling (and frees up cash for mods).

Of course I also went out and bought a new car like you did, a 2003 Lincoln LS with the V8. Was able to get 0% for 60 months so I financed the whole car! I plan on keeping this one too!

Jimbo, sure do miss chattin' with ya like I used to be able to do. Those long work hours ain't no fun, are they? But, think of the "Mod Money" you are making!

When ya gonna be able to wheel with me again? You know some of us are trying to get up a trip for New Years Day, and then Tom (tntracy) from Atlanta is driving up the 2nd to wheel with me the 3rd and 4th. Hope you can make one or all of those days.

David:

You said you were checking out some stuff about LBL and hoping to come down in March. Sounds great!

Have you made use of the link on my Turkey Bay website that takes you to kentuckylake.com? Once you get there, there are other links to motels and stuff.

I'd better warn ya right now, David: March can be kinda "iffy" about weather and soil conditions. They sometimes close TB when the soil gets real mushy from freezing and thawing repeatedly. I can check with 'em right before time for you to leave, though, so we should know what to expect before you start your trip. Would hate for ya to drive all the way down and find TB closed.

Once again, CONGRATS on that Jeep! Post some pics! Email me, if you want some help in knowing where and how to get your pics hosted on the Net and posted here. My email is public in my profile.

I cannot believe your luck! What a sweet deal, on the car itself, but then to get Thelma Jane paid off all in one sweep. I guess the wife is having a happy Christmas.

Yeah, lots of hours at work. I'm hoping things will slow down a little after New Years, both at work and at home.

I hope everyone has a merry Christmas and a happy New Year.

Happy Holidays by erickpl

I just wanted to wish y'all a Happy Holiday season. This year has been rough in a lot of ways for a lot of people, so be thankful for what you have, especially your family. Be safe, be happy, and enjoy this special time of year.

My family and I are going up to Mammoth to do some skiing. We aren't taking the TJ (See - jeep related), but we are taking the Grand Cherokee (no roof rack on a softtop ). They are getting a LOT of snow right now.

If you are travelling, be careful. Lots of precious human cargo on the roads during this part of the year and Mother Nature doesn't always play nice or fair.

I look forward to hearing from ya when I get back next week.

Hopefully by this time next year I will have TAZZ & our Nissan Frontier paid for as well.
Then Christmas 2004 I can celebrate.

Boxing Day by tsjay

Yeah, I hope all you Canadians are working out and sparring and getting in great shape for Boxing Day. How many rounds do you usually go? Is the mandatory eight count rule in effect? Do you use the three knockdown rule?

If all of you are boxing, who do you get for referees? You get some of us from south of the border to come up and ref for you?
