There are some reputable garage type of discussions on the Maintenance & Repair board but I don't know of a referral specific discussion off hand.

Check out the Honda Odyssey Owners- Accessories & Modifications discussion too.

2001 Jetta CD player - in-dash vs. changer by joshwritr

I received both an in-dash VW CD player and a generic brand changer as gifts and am not sure which one would be best to install. I have the Monsoon sound system, and the car is pre-wired for the changer, of course. Any ideas where I can get some info?

Hi Josh,

I'd try the Aftermarket Audio Systems & OEM Upgrades and the Volkswagen Owners: Accessories & Modifications discussions. Look around in the Volkswagen Jetta Owners: Problems & Solutions one too.

Good luck and welcome to Edmunds.

Valuing Aftermarket Convertible for Eldorado by theprof3

The Cadillac Eldorado is the rare implant recipient of a fabulous aftermarket convertible hardtop...just beautiful.

Question: How do you make sure the financing company puts a solid number on the value of this improvement?

It should be several thousand dollars and obviously impacts the loan value on such used gems.

Suggestions and Wise Enlightened Answers, please.

Good question - often options and mods don't bring near what the installation cost was when you go to sell the car.

Try asking over in Real-World Trade-In Values for advice from the pros, but I don't know of any book value you can point to.
