If you buy a 2007 VUE, you are buying a car that will be old the day you drive it off the lot. I've done something similar to that before and you just get upset. 2) You can get a good deal on the 2007 VUE right now for just that reason. It seems to be a good buy right now. If you get a VUE, make sure it's got the V6. Our 2005 VUE is a 4 cylinder 5 speed. We took it to our dealer last Saturday thinking about trading up to a 2007 with V6 and a few other goodies we don't have now. The dealer practically told us they did not want our trade. I can understand why. They are advertising in the paper right now a 2007 VUE with 4 cylinder and 5 speed for about $14,700 after rebates. They would have a hard time selling one that's 2 years old when a brand new one is only $14,700. This is our 4th Saturn; but, if a Saturn dealer won't take it for a trade, I certainly don't need to buy another Saturn--now or in the future. Good luck to you. Buy the Equinox--it comes standard with traction control and stability control. Those are the kind of things that can save your life one day. |

We've had our 06 VUE(FWD, V6) for over a year now and I love it. Lots of go, good driver, comfortable seats; over 15k and the only issue -s a side panel on the console that buzzes on rough pavement... I tried the Equinox when we were shopping and didn't like the 3.4lV6 to much - less power, noisier. Equinox is certainly a capable rig; but the VUE was a better deal equally equipped (even tho Chevy had more rebates at the time.) mpg for the life we've owned the VUE calculates to almost 23mpg - I think we'll keep it. |

...when I can see the new one. And when Edmunds will get their hands on one. |

I was looking forward to the 08 Vue but now, not so much. It weighs 4000 lbs (about 500 more than the 07) and it's $3,000 higher. It may be a better vehicle but that isn't the direction I want to go. With gas over $3gal, I want a lighter, more efficient vehicle that costs less (or the same.) The new Vue isn't for me. It's similar to the Edge. Too big and too pricey. But the Vue isn't really that big, it's just fat. The category of SUV I'm interested in is under 3500lbs, 30mpg on the hwy and 18 to 22k. That's the Jeep Patriot, the Honda CRV and maybe the new Nissan Rogue. The new Vue is too fat and too expensive. |

We all know that we had trouble with removing those door panels. When I got my car alarm installed on my 2004 Vue, they broke the clips on the bottom. Now my door panel keeps catching everytime I open the door. I have been looking all over for a door panel; A used, salvaged, refurbished panel would work. Saturn wants to charge me $500 for a brand new one. Does anybody have any ideas as to where I could get one?

I have a 2003 Saturn Vue...it's my 2nd Saturn, but most likely my last. I am frustrated because the service department gives me lots of "we can't reproduce the problem" types of comments and I am to the point where I feel they don't know what they are doing. Here is my latest problem...I would be interested to know if anyone else is having this problem... My dash lights are doing screwy things....service light, service engine soon, the gas gauge, as well as tachometer, speedometer and temperature gauge all go haywire constantly as I am driving. My Non saturn auto repairmen has tried and tried to figure it all out, he is to the point where he is now sending me back to the dealer. He feels I have a short somewhere. This has not been the only problem with my car. I am out of warranty, but still paying on the car (not much to go now). There have been other problems which Saturn couldn't fix during warranty. After warranty the problem became worse and I had to pay to have it fixed....My next car will be a Honda!!! I want something that lasts!

If the dealer doesn't agree to work with you, ask to speak to a zone representative (or whatever Saturn calls their regional customer support people). If you still don't get any results, you may want to contact your local consumer protection agency and see if they can help. The After Warranty Assistance article at Edmunds may be of interest too. |

Replying to: eileen2left (Feb 03, 2008 6:34 pm) I'm pretty sure that the reason for your problems is a failing BCM (body control module). In a nutshell, the BCM controls all sorts of things dash and interior related, basically all of the things you've listed as going crazy as well as things like the remote unlock on your key ring and the interior lights. As far as I know, the BCM can only be replaced by the dealer as there's a bunch of programming that they have to do to it once they've replaced it. It is unfortunately a fairly common failure on the 02-03 Vue. I've read its about $ 800 to repair... You've mentioned that you've brought your car to the dealer - make sure you've got all of your receipts so you can make a case that there were things that could have been repaired under warranty but "couldn't be reproduced" by the dealer mechanics. Best of luck - keep in mind that Honda and Toyota have service departments too and its not easy to get an appointment at theirs either...I know a guy who had a late model Camry that was falling apart at 35K miles and I knew someone that had a '69 VW Beetle that was a lemon. There are no guarantees, they all need repairs - Don't worry, be happy |
