anyuhting can be done if you have the expertise, money and a friend at the dealer with a computer what features of the CXL do you want? i have the CX plus and i think the only thing im missing is moonroof, auto climate zone, and heated seats. problem with the vous is you have to program the BCM to recognize the options which i think can be done. so what options do ya want and i can check my repair DVD and my other sources to see if it can be done easily

hmm the third row may be possible i know there was one on ebay for 120 bucks or so. the problem comes with the seat belts youll ahve to run the shoulder belts and get the plastic rear quarter with the seat belt holes etc. not sure whats under the carpet but it uses studs which the holes and reinforcemnts may be there and you may need to drill holes and insert studs you wont know till you pull the carpet up and look. the grilles there was only one grille available earlier ones were gray later ones black and the ultra had bodycolored, I have an xclusive chrome one i got off ebay its aftermarket and its the full grille thats been chromed but here is also a E&G classic grill overlay doesnt look nearly as good in my opinion and its more expensive than the xclusive one. the moonroof you can add in aftermarket . then there is the wood dash which makes a drastic iumprovemnt. the black faced guages which require some dissecting so not for the faint of heart. you gotta switch the circuit board or the milages is innacurate. there are a few rendezvous sites and also check out the Aztek sites the aztek is the lil cousin and shares alot of parts those guys are do some awesome stuff as well. i think im one of the rendezvous nuts and breathe these cars so hit me up an email and i can send ya some more info.

Bluedevils,
Sorry it took me so long to answer you. Have not checked in for about 4 mos.
Re. the mpg: no I don't keep close track of but will check it now and then. Last time I checked in-town mileage it was a little over 16. On a trip from central Ohio through Pennsylvania I think it was 23 mpg with mostly secondary roads and lots of hills. It's my wife's vehicle and is used mostly in town. It is an '04 Ultra, AWD, with only 14,000 miles on it. WIfe loves it and have had no problems.

Does anyone know where the PCM is located under the hood (on the 2006 Rendezvous). Also, who is the wiring manufacturer for GM for the engine harness?

We are having the same problem in our 2002, everthing dies. The car will die for about 5 sec or so and then start back up, all the dash light blink, all the bell go off and the car start back up. This all happens at 65 MPR Took it to the dealership they said everthing check out fine and could not find any problem.
Any help would be great.

My '04 Rendezvous will be coming off lease soon. I've been lucky enough to have seen zero defects/problems in 36K miles. GMAC wants too much to buy the car, so I'll be turning it in. No complaints - that huge residual meant <$300/mo payments. I'd like to get a new one, but I'm told the RDV has been replaced by Buick with the new Enclave, which is quite a car. Compared to the RDV, it's 14 inches longer, 3 inches wider, 1,000 pounds heavier, with 100HP more, and its rated at about the same MPG. Of course, gas is a lot more expensive than it was in '04.Will the new, porkier model be able to get 30MPG on the road, like my RDV has? Imagine if the money to develop this MDX fighter had been spent on refining the Rendezvous? That efficient new drivetrain might have gotten another 5 or 10 MPG in the smaller, lighter car. Still with 7 adult seats, awesome cargo capacity, and an easy-to-park size. I'll miss my Rondy.

I love my wife's RVD as well. We have a used '03 RDV (bought a few months ago) and still love it today. Best little "run about and short trips for 3 kids" vehicle we ever owned. Love the way it rides across bumps, love the way it steers and love the way it "feels" in the tight corners. You are right, it isn't the best SUV/Cross Over vehicle for MPHs. But based on its many positives, one has to take a negative hit somewhere. One can't have 100% in every critical rating. If our '03 RDV got totalled tomorrow, we're also replace our RDV with the same type of SUV/Cross Over vehicle. Yes, a used model as well. And, like our current '03 RDV vehicle, it would only be in FWD version. For a replacement, Saturn Vue, Chev Equinox, KIA Sportage and Santa Fe "shape models" come to mind. Even though we love our current '03 RDV, not too sure if I'd buy another GMC again. For their physical size, GMC models continue to be "gas hogs". And, they don't have high quality / high reliability like its competition. Or, high quality like their models built 10 years ago. No - this post is not ment to poke at GMC. I'm a GMC guy since age 9 (since my field bombing days with my dad's old chev). Just "recent 5-10 years of GMC hands on experience" and too much auto repair bill memories coming to the surface... Time to see what the other SUV/Cross Over designs have to offer as well... Good luck with your future replace RDV "shape like" replacement.

BTW: If I add up all auto repair bills for my 2 x GMC models and factory in saved MPGs, I could have easily bought import vehicles - at a much higher initial purchase price. I'm sure others are starting to "bean count" and connect the dots with their own vehicle history as well.

im not to impressed by the enclave. they made such a big deal with its debut and how it would bring back buick but then they release the outlook and acadia months before the enclave so now its clearly a cookie cutter built from a GMC and saturn. Now the Buick SUV looks like everyother SUV on the market. I love my Rendezvous this is my first GM car and i know my last I dont like the invasive Onstar, I dont think GM is to user friendly as far as accessories. even audio upgrades arent possible without a 120 dollar interface. My prior vehicle was a 02 dodge intrepid and i was able to add auto headlights, Navigation, indiglo guages, auto climate control etc most of which was plug and play, not programming of BCMS needed I miss that car. well enough of my rant just feel the rendezvous coulda been something great but buick never redeisgined them or even made any improvemnts in 5 year
