I was kinding thinking it was a problem with the AWD system. I dont really understand exactly how Versatrak works but it makes sense that the problem would habe to do with it trying to sinc the wheel rotation or what ever it does. I'll see what the dealer says after this next appointment but I'm guessing Im in for a long process to get it fixed. My local dealer admitted that they have had very little experience with Rendezvous.

One other possibility (besides just changing fluid) is leak in the system causing fluid to be low. I would have them check the fluid level first (and obviously look for signs of leakage). There is also a procedure that has to be folllowed when changing fluid (beyond dump and refill), are you dealing with GM dealer?

I just had my RDV AWD serviced for the noise when turning. They changed the rear dif fluid and drove it around in circles for a while, then changed the fluid again. It has seemed to work and there is a TSB for it at the dealer's. Only bad thing, cost $450.00...50K on my Ultra RDV however and I still think its the perfect car for me.

Starts with a paperclip! by valron

Can anyone help? 2003 Rendezvous will not start when you turn the key. Mechanic replaced the computer and ignition but neither solved the problem. He did however tell me if you put a paperclip in fuse #58 and turn the ignition in the on position it starts right up. Sure enough it does but..... I hardly call that fixed! We hooked it up to another computer and it reads that it is in 3rd gear no matter what gear it is in.
Any ideas?

Thanks

From the desription of the problem, I would have to think about the BTSI (brake transaxle shift interlock). Its a little gizmo inside the center console area that has a history of having troubles (broken/wiring issues).

My AWD light stay on. The Rendezvous seem to still run good, no change in the performance in the way it rides. My problem the light stays on. One time it went off for half hour then it came back on. Do any one know what could be the problem.

It could be something simple, like a tire that is low on air. Your dealer can plug in a scanner and it should point to one wheel where it thinks the problem is. The first thing they woul most likely do is change wheel bearing/hub assembly , but quite often the problem is due to bad connection to wheel sensor or broken/bad wire.

Buick Rendezvous left front wheel speed sensor wire harness needs replaced by indyharleyguy

I have a 2002 Buick Rendezvous and I've had the left wheel bearing replaced twice. Now I'm having a Intermittent problem. The service traction system panel light comes on and it turns the anti lock brakes off. The Chevy dealership is telling me the left front wheel speed sensor wire harness needs replaced. Over $250. Since it's Intermittent I'm thinking it might be a wire that needs soldered? The wire harness is only $66.00. Is this easy to replace myself? Or could I solder the wire that seems to be broken? This only happens Intermittently and most of the time when I make a hard right turn. Thanks for any suggestions.
