I think we're all waiting for some definitive news on the new LX. Rumors range from "the LX will die" to "a new and improved version with ALL the bells and whistles" is coming out next year.   The Autospies pics created a stir as did the new landcruiser pics... but so far I've yet to see a single definitive news item on the LX.   I guess we just have to keep waiting.....

I was at the top of my dealership's list to get an 07 LS460, but turned it down because I like my LX470 much better than my previous LS430's. But I would like a new vehicle--don't need one (my LX is an 06) just want one!

Replying to: sidgriggs (Dec 15, 2006 4:47 am) Thanks sid. Lots of useful info there. A chap called jjbodean had posted some good info based on a Lexus production meeting he attended. His exterior descrition seems to match the spy pics floating around. However, I don't think it is an all new platform. It is a significant remodel of the current platform. Looks like I will wait out most of 2007 with my 2002 Landcruiser until the new lx/tlc is released.

Replying to: oac (Jan 02, 2006 10:03 pm) We own a 1999 LX 470. We experienced a "low, grinding" sound that occured only upon starting to move forward. The dealer at first couldn't replicate the sound. Over time, it got worse. Finally,the dealer replaced our entire transmission.....but the noise persisted!!It turns out that we once had our car serviced at a Toyota dealer because we were out of town, and there wasn't a Lexus dealer within a couple hundred miles. The Toyota dealer used the wrong fluid in the differential, and that was the source of the noise. When Lexus changed to the correct fluid, the noise disappeared. That was 50,000 miles ago, and we haven't experienced any problems since.

I have a 2004 LX 470 and have had numerous problems with it. It has had the transmission replaced, the height sensors replaced twice, brake issues...the list goes on and on. Has anyone else experienced similar problems?? I was told to call the 1800-25-lexus number but they basically told me 'tough luck!'.
