Don't know - try the '07 discussion I linked above. There may be some hints at the official Hyundai site too (link).

This looks like a mix between the Nissan Murano and the Lexus RX.

I'm looking to buy a new Santa Fe, I was just wondering what minor differences there were between the 2005 or 2006 model years?

Here are the changes for the '06MY:

+Standard on all models: blacked-out B and C pillars
+Standard on GLS 3.5: electrochromic auto-dimming rearview mirror with HomeLink® integrated universal transceiver
+"LX" trim name changed to "Limited"
+Standard on Limited: automatic on/off headlamp control
+Available for Limited: all-black monochromatic color scheme
+Some manufacturer-installed optional items used to only be available as dealer-installed accessories

I personally would suggest waiting for the all-new 2007 model (due sometime between April and early September of this year). It's a very highly-improved vehicle overall, being more safe, roomy, powerful, economical, agile, and refined than the 2001-06 models. With a significantly wider track, revised independent suspension, and standard stability control, the '07 will prove more forgiving at its handling limits. A stronger safety cage, head-protective side curtain airbags, and active-response head restraints will have your back if things really don't go according to plan. Both five- and seven-passenger models will be available.

Here are some additional photos from NAIAS of the '07 US-spec model.

Thanks for the breakdown, it seems for me there's not too much difference between the 2005 and 2006. Trust me, I've been eyeing that 2007 and I'm tempted to wait...but I'm not sure I can afford it since I'm sure the prices will go up. There are a lot of incentives for 2005, and it'll be awhile after the 2007 arrives for there to be deals. I just got a quote for 2005 that seems really competitive, $19,358 for a 2005 LX with sunroof before TTL....$57 doc fee, that's it. I'll post in the Prices Paid section to see if that's a good deal or not. Thanks again.

No, not much at all.

Yeah, I'm predicting that the MSRPs will start a little over $22K and run all the way up to the $29K mark for a loaded, top-of-the-line AWD Limited. Not a huge gap between the current model, but, you're right about the incentives making the difference -- a significant one in this case.

Good idea -- that does sound like a great deal.

"Thanks again."

My pleasure!
