vehicle speed sensor by kismit

I have a 2000 Tracker 4 dr, 4 wd. The service engine light came on soon after the speedometer/cruise quit working. The code came up P0500. The dealership gave me a part #30020772 for a vehicle speed sensor. However, no one I contact for this part (as it is $266 at the dealership) can find or cross reference this number. They say it must be a shelf number or something. Can anyone out there help?

Window Winder Broken by microzuk

My 1996 Suzuki Escudo's window winder suddenly stopped operating, along with the driver's door lock function. Is there any simple way to fix this or do I need to buy a new door unit?

Have second opinion, the evap. cores are known for failing. i know mine just went out. $749.99 my cost from the dealer. i refuse to pay that for it. if your a/c is doa you need to know where the freon is leaking from and replace that componet. also be sure to flush lines out real good.
pipe leaking may be in exhaust manifold, mine is too, its expensive to repair even if you own your own shop. mine is still leaking not too bad but its not a priority for me now. only my a/c is so in the meantime i will keep charging my system on a daily basis so i can get home and to work without sweating to death. good luck to you !!!

Hi, everyone. As you've probably noticed, we have been trying to refine the discussions into more narrowly focussed topics. Our objective is twofold. We want to make it easier for people seeking specific information about their vehicles to find it easily and without having to wade through hundreds or thousands of postings.

To those ends, we will be shutting down the general make/model discussions and work exclusively with specific issues. This requires us to populate the make/model subsections with relevant, interesting and timely topics. Rather than having the hosts simply create boilerplate topics for each make/model, we feel that you, the owner, the make/model enthusiast and the prospective buyer can best judge what those topics should be.

You can help by adding a discussion (it's easy!) or suggesting one here.

To add a discussion, click on the last link in the "You are here" line at the top of this page. That will take you to the topic page for this make/model. Review the list of topics and click on the "Add discussion" link when you've decided what topic you'd like to add. Follow the directions and you're done! Feel free to add more than one. Just avoid duplicating existing topics and try not to make it TOO specific!

Your help and continued participation in the Forums is greatly appreciated! Thanks.

I know - I paid about $100 for my Quest one back in 1999 and it really hasn't paid off. I've found most of what I've needed off the forums (but then again, I'm not much of a wrench, so a little goes a long way for me).

Is the 2000 Susuki ok in 2007? by mrsrony

We are looking at a 2000 SUZUKI GRAND VITARA with about 65k miles asking $9k. It seems like there was alot of problems with that year yet the others rate really well. We are torn between it and a 2002 Jeep Liberty with 90k miles for the same price. The price alone makes me think there is a problem. Any advice? Thanks for your thoughts.

I purchased my 2000 Suzuki Grand Vitara for $2500!!! It had sorta high miles (109K) when I got it but I have had it for over a year now and it is the best vehicle I have ever owned!
I have heard good things about the Jeep Liberty's as well...but wanted to give you my personal experienced opinion. My Grand Vitara does not do well on wet or snow covered roads though...even in 4WD...it tends to slide on the curves and when trying to slow down on snow/ice, it gives me a wild ride...but it all has to do with the weight of the vehicle...the 2000 Grand Vitara is very light! Mine averages 22-24 mpg. All in all I love it!
