| BTW, went fishing with my buddy with the '97 GMC (350) which has had the cold start knock since it was new. He now has 105,000 miles on his truck. He told me he needed to change the oil. I asked him how many miles since his last change. He said he thought about 8,000. After giving him hell about how he treated his truck, we checked the oil. It showed a little over a half quart low. I asked him if he had added any oil since his last change. He told me he hadn't even checked the oil since the last change. His theory: "if there's no oil on the ground, then it must be in the motor". He drove to the lake, and I drove home (my beer count was about half of his). The truck ran great. It pulled his boat along at 75 with no problem and no apparent loss of performance. The only thing that sucked was the fishing. | |

| The Rancho 4" is a suspension lift and is available for the 1500 & 2500 HD's. I would like to see RCD offer a 4", the people I have talked to that own a RCD lift speak highly of it. I have talked with Fabtech which indicated they are considering a 4" offering but no decision as of yet. I think I am going to go with the 6" RCD. I could use that extra clearance to venture down some of my favorite trails. Besides the Lear cap I just put on along with the Ranchhand front end and rear bumper replacement and step bars to be installed next week will add about 700#That will move my rig in the wrong direction that I want it to go. | |

One major daily newspaper is looking for folks who drive 2002 or 2003 yellow or orange cars, and another major daily newspaper is looking for folks who successfully or unsuccessfully attempted to negotiate the purchase prices of their vehicles at the end of their lease terms. If you care to share your stories on either or both of these topics, please send an e-mail containing a short summary of your experience and your contact information to jfallon Thanks much, Jeannine Fallon PR Director Edmunds.com |

| I just purchased some stock alloy tire with stock Bridgestone tires. I noticed my stock chrome rims and stock Firestone Steelex were different. My truck is a 2001 and his was a 2002. Also I pull a 26' travel trailer 2 to 3 times a year. I read somewhere that you shouldn't use alloys or the will crack when towing, anyone know if this is true. Why would GM offer them if they cracked while towing? Wouldn't most people buy a 3/4 ton over a 1/2 ton because they need it for towing? Anyone hear about anyones stock alloy rims cracking after towing less than maximun towing capacity of the truck? Thanks I am a little leary about putting these alloy rims on the truck. | |

Hello, I just bought a chevy 2500HD long bed, 8.1L, crew cab. I lost the directions to my Kelsey brake controller. It has 4 thick wires...red, white, blue, and black. Would anyone know where to connect these wires to the included brake wiring harness, which has a thick red and blue, and thin light blue, black, and brown wires. I am a novice at this kind of thing. Thanks for any help |

No, the alloy rims will not crack from towing. The dynamic strength of the alloy rim exceeds that of steel. The downside of alloys is they can be cracked with a direct impact, ie curb. Wiring up a brake controller: All brake controllers use the same color code, but pay attention as it is not the typical color code one would normally see. The colors are like this: Big Blue: Output to the electric brakes. Big Black: +12V from the truck (Input to controller. Red: Stoplight switch to activate controller. White: Vehicle ground, needs to be a really good connection to the chassis. Brown wire is for illumination if your controller has it. Most do not, so just tape off the wire. If you are wiring this up to a late model GM you are in luck as the GM supplied harness is labled for you. If the harness is not in the truck, they can be purchased at any good RV shop or hitch company. Have fun. Jim |
