if I do get a hypertech chip, does this mean I'll need to use premium gas? would the chip void my warranty?

No you wouldn't have to use premium as you can program for regular. And the programmer would not void your warranty unless you did SPURTS up to 120 and your tires did blow out...cause you exceeded the rated speed of the tire...

go to this link:
click on computers in the left column and you can read for yourself on the benefits of the HPIII. There is one thing that you must do when using this programmer. Always return to stock setting when taking truck into dealer for servicing. I had good experiences with the company above. you could also check out truckperformance.com,though I've heard mixed reviews about them. good luck.

Has anyone heard about any problems that anyone has had with these? Looking for a new truck, like 4x4, can't afford full size, don't like Rangers, have a S-10, not a fan of foreign, so here I am with GMC....any other suggestions?!

get a Dodge Dakota CC with the 4.7L. would be better than a Sonoma...way better...

but I am worried about the price. I love the look of both the Dakota and the sonoma/s-10, but I would want a 4x4, and I know that I am going to have to lease to keep the payments around 230-250. The Dakota (unless I got a stripped down model in puke orange) I think is out of that range. Please correct me if I am wrong!
