They don't make sense why?

I don't know if the prices are accurate, that is what people have posted they paid in TX and NY and other states like CA. What I am trying to do is get a better feel for what people are paying here in WA. I did see one person in WA shipped his Ody from Pocatello, ID. I have heard a lot of people are going to Idaho for cars, I'll make sure to get pricing from a few ID dealers before I purchase.

The new Odysseys, especially the EX-DVD ones are very hot sellers in short supply. I can't understand (or believe) why a dealer would sell one for a hundred dollars over their invoice UNLESS it's a very different/depressed market where they are located.

Said another way...I don't believe some of these numbers we read in some of these forums. Maybe there was a trade they underallowed on..? I don't know.

All of the Idaho stores are pretty small and low volume. They sometimes quote low prices on cars they don't have and can't deliver.

Also, shipping costs and other pitfalls can seriously erode the money "saved".

Well, I will let you know what I end up paying, you may be right. I was told the same thing about the Accord version I bought 5-6 years ago but I still paid $300 over invoice when the dealer was charging Adjusted Market Value.

Also, does anyone know if the 3.9% rate is nation wide for Ody's for 48 & 60 mos?

dear Shperez,

Is that including tax and title and fees?
What Edmunds has is this:
Total with Options $32,610 MSRP
$29,387 invoice
 $31,225 [tmv]

what is the tax rate where you are? If it is 7% it comes up to 31,444 if you are paying the invoice price. if tax is not included, then it is way too much.

We bougth EX at the end of May in King County for about $ 650 over invoice with some accessories. I did comparison shopping with as far as Yakima, Wenatchee,Olympia, Belligham etc. The cheapest price I got after some hard negotiations was the one I paid localy. Yakima was over a 1000 over invoce but they saved on taxes which in KC is 9.1% for cars !!!!!!!!!( .088 + 0.03 ). I briefly inquired about shipping the vehicle from other places, but the shipping and insurance costs were very high ( around 500 + ) Also selection at some smaller delears wasn't as good as the big ones. After we agreed on the price, the transaction went very smooth. The problems started next day when I noticed some problems with the paint job ( delear gave me the Honda Service History booklet, which said this Ody passed two inspections ). Good luck.

Hey there are some dealers that want to do high volume the dealer close to me OC CA wanted MSRP + for the EXL-RES but by sending out emails to dealers I quickly got the price down. Rock honda in Fontana talked to me on the phone I had got a quote from Riverside Honda for 300.00 over invoice. They said they would beat it if I liked one of the cars they had coming in on the friday before I was buying(memorial day weekend. They had a Sagebrush Pearl/Olive coming and I got it for 29,575.00 That's before I talked trade. Some of the dealers I taked to that found out I was getting a good deal said well we can't sell it for that we got people waiting to give us more. Thats cool with me but now I wish they'd stop calling me.

Looks like go got a pretty good price. I have been offering to pay $1000 over invoice, but this same dealer won't budge for less than $38,510.00 . The best I can find in this area is $37,237.00. I'm just starting though. I am determined to find a touring with DVD and Nav for $1000 over the invoice price, and I don't care where it is sold. I'd like it to be oregon, where i live but if not then I'll just take a vacation. I know this is a popular van but I don't understand why a dealer would not simply order me a van for this price- how much do they want to make to fill out the order paperwork- pay with cash, no trade- I just don't understand it, other than the dealers just don't need to.

Good luck on getting the Touring w/ Nav & Res for $1000 over invoice. Around DC Metro area, couldn't get any closer than about $1400. Seems to be pretty consistent within $100/$200 across the board. Though I did see on post in Rhode Island that was pretty close to invoice - though I'm doubtful of that number myself. Good luck!
