Thanks for the info. What was the name of the person you dealt with? I live in Dayton and am looking for the same vehicle. Only difference is that I have a Infinity i30 to trade in....

Thanks!

This board really helps! Bought an EX w/cloth in Albany, NY by sarahandbray

Just wanted to say that printing out a dozen different excerpts from people's buying price experiences helped me get lower than the invoice price on a Slate Green w/dark gray cloth interior Odyssey EX! Very happy at this point!

First dealer tried to get us to take their 1,000 off MSRP price (which would have been $27,810)--so I blatantly ripped out my sheet with the excerpts, Edumunds & KBB prices and what I wanted to pay. We eventually got it down to $26,000 even (Invoice was $25,881). Went to two other dealers. Second dealer couldn't go any lower than $26,000 either. Last dealer I explained our scenario to (said we were getting $26,000 w/cargo net and cargo tray from two other dealers), and he said they could possibly go $200 less and add those options in.

So we're going with this:
$25,800 w/$515 destination fee included, cargo net and cargo tray (worth $207.50)

Pretty happy with that from the different dealers we've been to in the capital district.

Leather in olive looked really nice too, but with three dogs, I'd be a little worried about the nails digging into it.

If the dealer thinks the deal is good, it was good for the dealer, not necessarily the buyer. Of course, some will say, that the buyer did agree. But buyers may agree to some bad deals. Look at the State of California who was forced to overpay due to market conditions from power companies who manipulated the market by making sure power was scarce and charging very high prices. Good for the seller. How about current oil prices? Good for the seller. The dealer buys and sells every day. The customer may only buy at intervals of years. Hopefully the buyer will get a deal good for the buyer.

Just curious as to what dealerships in the Albany area you shopped at and where you ended up buying from. I'm in the market for an Odyssey in the capital district, and your input would be helpful. Also, I'm surprised you got your Odyssey for under invoice when the Edmunds site lists the TMV as close to MSRP. Is this typical?

Will finish purchasing an EX-L RES, also for my wife, on Monday (will post dealer when I've closed the deal).

The final deal was $29,387 (invoice) + $500 (pure profit). There's the Texas 6.25% T and $176 TL. So excluding TT&L my cost is $29,887.

I have question about financing at a Honda dealership. I was told that the very best non-incentive rate (for which there are none on the Odyssey) for customers with the best credit scores is 4.3 % right now. Has anyone else done better through Honda?

Silver/Gray interior
$33,363(including destination) + TTL

For California a very FAIR Deal at Jim Doten's Honda, Berkeley!

lopcheung,

I'd like to talk to you about your experience with Yuba City Honda--I don't know if you still check this board. Please reply to this message if you get it.

Has anyone else had experience with them?

Thanks!
