I'm on the market for a new 2005 Odyssey EX-L with DVD in chicagoland area. I'm just wondering when was the last time that honda had a special financing on a Odyssey. The current rates for 60 months financing are over 5%.

Bought the following in NJ. I got three quotes from the Honda Web site. The best quote was Honda Odyssey EX-L Brush Sage Pearl/Olive interior 27249 Base + dest fee 15 Tire disposal/etc.. 199 Doc Fee 322 4 years of registration (NJ law) 96 Window Etching - I didn't want this but what can you do if the price is good? 1634.94 Taxes 29515.94 Total They tacked on a few junk fees but the bottom line is good. One dealer refused to match, the other would match it. Hope this helps someone.

Replying to: sava13 (Mar 29, 2005 5:18 pm) I did secure a 60 month loan at 3.85% through USAA. They matched my credit union (Kraft Foods) rate and that even includes gap insurance too. I am not sure if you need to be a USAA member to be able to go through them though. |

In New Jersey, we bought the Odyssey EX-L with DVD for the new invoice price $28,872. We got the window etching for free (don't pay for this) and free wheel locks thrown in. We got stuck with a high doc fee ($198) and couldn't get them to knock this down even though it is a way for them to pad in profit. We estimate that the dealer at the very least made $500 profit off of us. The car we bought was on the lot prior to the Edmund's invoice hike from $28,472 to $28,872, so claiming the new "invoice" is as low as they go is not completely true. I'm not really sure why the Edmunds invoice price was inflated, but it seems questionable to me and seems to give dealers an added $400 "holdback" that is all profit. Since this dealer very easily sold us the car for invoice, I STRONGLY believe that there is a HOLDBACK on Honda vehicles even though Edmunds does not list one. I'm 99% sure so word to the wise --- push to get at the very least invoice price for Hondas. We also used internet quotes to our advantage which helped speed up the negotiation process and get it down to the new Edmunds invoice price. When they know that you know there are a lot fewer "let me go check" games...
