Replying to: ody77 (Mar 28, 2005 12:44 pm) And they're one of the dealers that sell HondaCare policies for close to cost ($1,075 for 7-yr/100K miles $0 deductible). |

I am confused. I can't seem to determine a clear price for an EX in this forum due to incomplete numbers. So please, what would be a good asking price with destination & document fee added??? My first internet bid was 27,380 which seems high.

Replying to: bricksonap (Mar 26, 2005 7:57 pm) I also live in the KC area and will be looking to purchase a Touring NAV/RES in the next 6-8 weeks. Could you provide more information on how you negotiated such a great deal? Thanks for any help you can provide.

Replying to: rrjm (Mar 28, 2005 7:15 pm) I initiated contact via email to the internet JHC sales POC and let them know I would be wanted to buy this week and I only would pay 34,800. I let them know I had finance in hand and ready to execute when he wanted to move one. They eventually came back to me (after several emails and calls) 35,000 + 179 documentation + TTL offer firm over the internet. Got me into the door. It helped that while we wanted to buy this weekend we didn’t have to and could wait if needed (which we were prepared to do) for the right price. I think end of the month dynamics and taking one that was on the lot was a big factor. When I received confirmation of the 35,000 offer, I asked if the other local honda dealers would beat the deal and they basically heck NO. GM later told me how he is catching flak for selling it at this price from his "peers". BLUF is he moved a unit and the others didn’t which means JHC made money and the others did not. I made two trips (Friday/Saturday) to check out the vehicle choices and they knew we were serious. GM sweetened the deal on Saturday to get me to close at the 34,860 + 179 doc + TTL price and I signed. We had to pick up the vehicle last night since we switched interior colors Saturday night and the PDI wasn't done. The Finance manager beat my best credit union rate (my check from my CU was on the table ready to be used) by .2% (3.9 to 3.7) and give me same deal on 7 yr/100000 miles you can find on the net (if you've done your homework, you know the current lowest price). I spent more time in here than I thought I would but he give me exactly want I was looking for in terms of rates and warranty prices. Again, knowing the prices and rates in advance paid off. Remember, dealerships can profit off of financing through them. In this case, 3.7% was a win-win for me and them. They have to eat too. We drove it home last night - awesome vehicle. We love it. We took so long (because of my tardiness in getting to the dealership that we couldn’t do the walk through with our sale rep (two boys with me at the time). I was concerned about issue of scratches, etc but they pleasantly rescheduled for Wed. night walk-through with me and guaranteed that anything would be fixed right, not to worry, and enjoy your new car. Strange as it seems, I trust them. JHC rocks I came in armed with all the information that this board, Odyclub, and Fatwallet offered in buying a new car had to offer. I thought it was going to be painful and dragged out but it was extremely smooth and professionally. Trust me, JHC made money on me otherwise they wouldn't have sold the car but I'm happy (wife is) and that is what counts. Plus it makes us feel good to hear we paid 3,4,5 grand less than some of the higher demand markets. FINALLY, living in central US pays off!!!!! Side Notes: -Paid $5069.00 down on Fidelity Credit Card to get bonus for our Fidelity 529 Plans. 0% Interest for 12 months and will be paid off by next Feb. -No other dealer in KC would touch JCH's deal. They are also currently working a $615 over dealer's invoice ad on all their Odys. -JCH is pretty much a no haggle environment when you come in with knowledge and buyers information prepared. (Thanks Odyclub/Edmund Forum!). -I'm sure that timing had something to do with it. End of month effect? Perhaps desire to move more Odys to get more allocations of Ridgelines? Anyway, hopes this helps the next buyer. Sapper |

Extremely pleasent experienced this wekend: $25,500 + 99 doc fees + TTL at Dick Brooks Honda in Greer, SC. Got quoutes over the internet from more than 10 dealers in SC, GA, NC and followed up with tel calls. Thanks to all people sharing their experinces in this forum, it helped me a lot to get an idea where the market was for this car. |
