I bought my last two cars from out of state (one was a 3 hour drive away) to save $1,700-$3,500 over local dealers.   In many cases the dealer may be able to register the car in your state and collect the sales tax. Other times they'd give you a temp/transit registration that may be free or cost up to a $100 and then you'd have to register/pay tax in your state yourself. What will NEVER happen is that you'd have to pay the tax/registration in the state where you buy the car.   You can have warranty work done at any Honda dealer regardless of where you bought the car, as long as it has US warranty.   The question about free car washes is a funny one. But pretty much any dealer I've dealt with would at least pretend to wash your car, when doing service. Did you have to pay the $595 acquisition fee by Honda Financing? I got 4.92% from Honda Financing, 48 mo, residual was 16125.20

Has anyone heard of the sliding doors malfunctioning? I purchased a 2004 Odyssey from John Eagle Honda in Houston, Texas and have had door malfunctions since I bought it. They are intermitent and hard to recreate. I have just had to video record the incidents and am turning it back in again today to the service department with the video tape. Replying to: jkoney (Mar 21, 2005 11:00 am) Yes, out the door was everything. Price 30,299, Destination 515, Tax for VA resident 927.42, Tags/Registration 116, processing fee 100. I am in VA and did have to pay 10 bucks for a state inspection. That was above the out the door cost of 31,957.42. I wanted to buy the vehicle soon and this was the best pricing I could get anywhere near by. I don't have time to drive a few hundred miles to say a few hundred dollars and I thought it was a fair price based on demand and supply for a EX-L with RES. I go back in a few weeks to pick up the plates and tags.
