Since the vehicle has yet to arrive, I doubt the dealer would balk at a request for your refund though, legally, it all turns what, exactly, has been signed. It's certainly worth a try - the worst that can happen is that they say no.

If a refund is refused (and depending on the amount) it might even be worthwhile to just abandon the transaction altogether. Forget about MSRP and come on up to Ohio - there are two stores here offering to sell me a Touring R&N at invoice (a good $5000 less than your number) right now.

While I don't feel free to identify them until I conclude matters, College Hills Honda in Wooster (near Akron in NE Ohio) is offering all in-stock Odysseys at 1 cent over invoice for the rest of this month. See the home page of their website for their Odyssey inventory. They told me just yesterday they will pre-sell any coming in at $500 over invoice. While they do not have any R&Ns in stock, a couple (a silver EX-L and a white Touring) are scheduled to be built this coming week and some others are on tap for March.

The Tennessee market must be rough for consumers now. A Memphis dealer offered a black/black Touring R&N on ebay last week for a "buy now" price that was $2000 over MSRP. I looked for the ad again last night and it was gone so perhaps they got that price - yikes!

LX pricing by lxbuyer

What are these going for in the Washington DC area? Since LX's are relatively rare, does that mean the price is lower or higher (relative to invoice) than for the more common Odysseys? I've seen quotes at around $24,300 for an LX with no options. Is this a good price? Edmunds what others are paying is $25,365 which seems unbelievable high.

$24,300 seems high as the invoice is $23,100 on a model not in great demand.

DON'T DO IT! That's a horrible deal! You can pay about that much for new 2005 EX.

You should not pay more than couple of hundred dollars over invoice on LX. Pohanka Honda of Salisbury MD can give you a great price and deliver the car to your home for free. There's no need to just limit yourself to the DC area dealerships. That is unless you want someone to rip you off...

bought a Touring with DVD/RES by earfull

Just wanted to post our experience - we live in Florida where Touring Odysseys with DVD and RES have been extremely hard to come by. We had been trying to get the van since mid-November. There hasn't been one to be found until recently - and we have searched statewide. One that we could have had in December would have cost $4000 above MSRP, and, forget about getting anything close to invoice price. We resigned ourselves to MSRP as that's what everyone was basically offering, and the van is so hard to get. The van does seem to be getting slightly easier to find now, as the day we were buying it, a couple of other dealers called to tell us that they had one. Oh well, we had to act quickly as we are expecting a third child in a couple of weeks. So, to complete the story, we bought the van at Duval Honda in Jacksonville. It was an ok experience. We got it for $500 under MSRP with a $279.00 dealer fee (which was a couple of hundred less that a lot of dealers were charging). They didn't throw in any extras. I think we lost out on our trade-in - a 1998 Acura TL with 85,000 miles, in very good condition. They gave us $4700. We new that Carmax may give us a couple of hundred more; but, that was basically the tax savings. And, we live in Orlando, so we didn't really want to drive two vehicles back from Jacksonville.

I also live in Florida and agree EXL with dvd res/nav are also hard to find. However I REFUSE to give anything above 500 over invoice. I can afford to wait as I do not NEED the van I WANT the van. I'll just hold out because the supply vs demand can't last forever. Who know maybe I'll end up with an 06. I feel the 500 over invoice and dealer holdback equals about a 1500 profit which is fair to both parties. I have moved the search further from my home but believe that only time will allow this deal to happen. Who knows maybe Honda will offer some incentives later in the year.

New dealer just opened up closer to us. Met a neighbor there who was thinking about trading in an '03. Older couple, thought I might be of some help to them.

Bigt2, I didn't purchase a Odyssey but a Pilot at the first of the year from Sam Swope Honda World in Louisville. I looked at the 04' Odyssey last summer when they had the killer deals going on and they seemed to be the dealer who most wanted my business. Neil Huffman in Clarksville is another good dealer but they don't want to do the same deals Swope does. I guess that's why Swope is the biggest dealer in the region. Bob Montgomery Honda you would be wasting your time dealing with. They act like you are taking food out of their mouth by asking for a good deal. When I looked for my Pilot in late December I told Swope to match the same deal I could get from Mike Pruitt in Akron, OH and they did. I didn't even have to bring them a quote. I know we can't give salesman's name so email me if you would like and will give it to you. I hope this will save you some time.
