I'm going to be looking to buy an Odyssey for the next 2 months for $1000 over invoice around the Bay Area. If I find one, great. If not, I'll buy a Sienna. I got a quote from my Credit Union for a Sienna for invoice (that's why I don't want to pay more than $1000 over invoice for the Ody).
 
By the way, Winter Honda (Davis, CA) gave me a quote for an EX-L with no DVD for $1500 below MSRP. He said he'd install an after market 10 inch screen DVD for $1400. Still not what I want.

3 more clues from friends/colleagues.
   1. Walnut Creek Honda: "a few hundred over invoice".
   2. Anderson Honda: (a miracle) EXL for just invoice, back in Oct. 2004.
   3. Trim=LX, invoice+$1000
 
I am trying. Don't know if still valid. Will update if there's anything better than you've got.

Thanks for sharing the detailed info. I'm also currently inclined to purchase an EXL/NAV/RES but am willing to wait until around June for hopefully better prices. One other possible dealer to try is Dublin Honda. We test drove the Odyssey there and were not pressured at all to buy on the spot. Unfortunately we did not get a price quote.
 
Please post any price updates you find, I will do the same later this Spring as negotiations turn more serious.

Why isn't Honda Extended Warranties board listed under Honda Odyssey discussions? I think some of these topics might not die from lack of interest if they were accessible from some of the more popular vehicle discussions like the Odyssey. Maybe I just can't find my way around as well as others, but I'm not sure if many readers/members even know what the Smart Shopper board is. I didn't.

It is - if you browse by vehicle Make/Model = Honda Odyssey, it is listed. It will also be added to the Honda Odyssey Owners Club. It will not be listed in the Prices Paid board. (Note - the majority of users browse by make/model, so they will see/find the discussion).

OK, I see. But I never come in 'through the front door,' as I have the list of Odyssey discussions saved on my favorites, and it doesn't come up there--at least not yet.

I was just curious why you didn't go with the lower price, I have 2 dealers I am talking to and Freeman is one of them and Freeman is $578.00 lower than the other dealer but the other dealer is 30 minutes closer, I don't know what to do

As I said in my original post 2 weeks back, nobody had the Slate Green color in EXL trim at the time and my in-laws were coming to town. Besides, wife thought I was nut to drive 100 miles to buy a van (from Arlington), so I ended up paying $112 more than the Freeman quote for the tinted front windows/pin stripe/VIN etching, I consider it even. Of course I still wish I paid only $500 over invoice. My suggestion is to tell the dealer closer to you about the Freeman price and ask them to match, if they don't, go with Freeman, 30 minutes drive is not that bad.
