Hi, I just joined this group. I've been looking for Honda EX-L DVD/Nav in Germantown, Maryland. All dealers in this Metro area giving for 3-4K over Invoice price. I saw your posting and I contacted Monmouth Honda, NJ..but they have not telling me their invoice price. They told me if I come down they would offer 500.00 over invoice price. Do you know what was your invoice price?

Please advice/help

Thanks

The invoice for an EXL-RES/NAV is $30,964 (includes $515 destination charge)

That may be so, but the invoice has nothing to do with the VALUE of a car.

At least in my neck of the woods, these are always pre-sold well before they hit the lot.

Wish we had 100 of these!

But at least he'll have something to work with.

BTW, between all the Ody trims which one is selling the best so far? Are the EXL NAV's outselling the Touring NAV's?

EXL's and above are in the most demand. Not much demand at all of LX's.

Non Navi Tourings aren't setting the world on fire. For whatever reason, the Touring EXL's are red hot and in VERY slim supply.

Very frustrating.

I had a similar problem with my finance guy. The guy was a complete snake.

Anyhow with regards to the survey, after our purchase there was some confusion over a $120 difference in the cost of something we had worked out upon with the salesrep. The salesrep agreed to give us 6 free oil changes to compensate us and said he'd be sending the agreement out in the mail. Well that night we got the Honda Survey phone call and gave the Finance manager in particular a poor rating. After seeing no sign of our oil change agreement, we found out that since the Finance manager's signature was required and he was refusing to honor the agreement due to our survey result.

We went ballistic and finally managed to get the agreement but the fact that these survey's are so completely non-confidential is a bit surprising to me. If the dealership screws up the consumer should not be held liable.

The funny thing is too that my salesrep and I agreed that ALL of the problems we had wouldn't have occurred had the dealership not been trying to close the deal that night (I had made it clear that I was going to finish the transaction on the next day). The salesrep admitted that they pushed our purchase through that night, against my wishes, because they had not sold any vehicles that day and wanted 1 on the books.

What? I'll bet it does to a Honda dealer.
Though you feel the need to keep reminding folks with the things-are-different-here story (I mean really, how many different ways/times are you gonna keep saying it?), fact is that in most of the country substantial discounts have become available on the Odyssey (some models more than others)-- and within just a few months of its introduction.

First of all a lot of new people come into these forums. They can get very upset and disappointed when they find out they can't buy an Odyssey for a number someone else might suggest.

It's always the MARKET that determines pricing and, yes, these prices can vary by quite a bit depending on supply, part of the country, weather, time of the year, etc..If you don't appreciate a reminder of this fact once in awhile as balance, you can simply use your scroll wheel.
