Purchased an '05 Odyssey EX near Sacramento at invoice (plus tax and license). I was in the San Jose over the holidays and went to local dealerships. They told me that NO ONE would be willing to sell me an new EX at invoice. Well they were wrong!

Follow up from postings 7116 and 7212: Picked up our Ocean Mist EXL NAV&RES today from the Honda Store in Youngstown Ohio. We are extremely impressed with this dealership, especially when compared with the Central Ohio (don't want to deal)Honda dealers. No surprises at The Honda Store, the van was immaculately prepped, the Internet Sales manager was extremely helpful. She sat in the van with us for at least 30 minutes explaining/displaying all the features including the NAV system. We did purchase the Honda extended warranty for $899, taking the total warranty to 6 years or 100K miles. Thanks to all who participate on this forum, hope to correspond with you on the Odyssey Owners Club Forum.

I purchased my Odyssey before Thanksgiving and have not been contacted by Honda for the survey. Should I have been contacted by now? Do they contact only a certain percentage of buyers?

Hi jim99000, congratulations on your great find! Could you please tell us who are the other dealers that are willing to deal at invoice? You mentioned Garden State Honda and Honda of Essex. Anybody else?

Thanks.

Contract problems. by minivanguy

If you read my first post, I told you how I got my Touring at invoice. That contract didn't fall through,Because Honda financial didn't want to finance me at 4.9%, Even though the contract had already been signed and agreed on. "Their mistake"! So by law they either had to let me out of the contract or find me a better deal. They went with number two. This new contract have me buying the van at $28,133 7.6% at 66months my payments are also 55 dollars lower. "Oh yeah",!! by the way my total cost of the van, if I pay it off in 66months will be $150 cheaper than if I'd payed it off in 60 months at 4.9%. I financed with a different Bank.

Can you tell us which dealer you dealt with near Sacramento? The Lowest in-writing quote for an EX or EXL that I've had is at Mel Rapton (Sacramento) for $1500 below retail. Invoice looks WAY better....

Touring Model by dd3

I'm looking to purchase a Touring Model in the San Jose/San Francisco area and am considering using "cartelligent.com", a broker who charges $300-500. Will they save me enough money to make the finder's fee worthwhile or is the car so hot that I could do the same on my own. Is this car going at MSRP or can I actually get close to invoice?

Also, I haven't bought a car in a while. What are some of the costs that I should make sure are in the deal so that the salesperson doesn't try to surprise me at the end when I think the negotiations are already done?

Should I get the extra warranty?
