Kevin,
Morehead quoted me $28,590 including destination on an EX-L. Keep in mind, all my deals involved a trade where they will profit handsomely. They only have two EX-L's in stock as of Christmas eve. Nighthawk Black Pearl and Sage Brush Pearl. I also paid a visit to Friendly Honda in Poughkeepsi. They also quoted me $28,590 on and EX-L but they were low on my trade and wouldn't budge. As for Nanuet, they wouldn't match my best quoted price over the phone. I did not pay them a visit. Last year I bought my '04 Accord from Mahwah Honda. They beat everyone's deal on the '04 Accord by $500 without even negotiating. I've heard others had bad experiences with Mahwah but my experience was good as far as price goes. I think next time, my strategy will be to get quotes from the far away high volume dealers first and then see if the local guys can match or beat. Try to get the quotes in writing and make sure you write everything down if if you get a copy of a quote. I find that if you don't put a deposit down, it is most likely the dealer will try to take his quote back from you. They don't want you to use their quote at the next dealer to get a better deal. Unfortunately, that's exactly what you have to do until you reach bottom price. Out of all the dealers I went to, I happen to like Morehead the best even though I'm not purchasing from them due to price. They are real gentlemen over there. I really wanted to do the deal with Morehead and will definitely give them the final shot next time around. Their service dept. is top notch as well. Been servicing my cars there since 2000 and have been very pleased. I felt Middletown Honda is a bit more high pressure sales, but they do come to the table with a great deal in my opinion. They have some deceptive tactics. I learned from them to make sure that every quote you get includes dest. charge. You have to compare apples to apples. Also, they have a $99 window ecthing fee on contract. Refuse to pay it. I you want it done, buy the $20 dollar kit...it takes 15 minutes to do. If you go to Middletown Honda jokingly ask for an '05 Accord EX Manual 4dr for $19,500. The sales manager there told me they sell 'em at that price evry day of the week. That's what they told me when negotiating my trade-in '04 Accord. I wonder if that includes dest. charge

I'll be picking up the van in a few hours. I'll let you know how it goes. I expect the sales pitch for the extended warranty and dealer installed options. Good Luck!

I'm looking for a price quote from people who bought in the Southern California area. I'm interested in the EX with cloth. Any suggestions on good dealerships to call on?

Cancel Contract by debtulip

Does anyone have any information about cancelling the contract? Monday night we bought a EX-L and Picked it up on Tuesday. We haven't put more than 30 miles on the van. After reading the forum I realized we over paid out of ignorance. I would like to drop the van off at the dealership and say forget it. Any advice?

Unfortunately, you own it. There is no 3 day cooling off period and the dealer doesn't want it back since it is now legally a used vehicle.

I say enjoy your car. When you bought it you were happy with the price weren't you?

Any feedback for me on prices paid for base touring (no NAV, no RES) in central Ohio would be appreciated.

(I like the power pedals in the Touring and don't need NAV or RES.)

Yes, I was happy but what lead me to the forum was thinking about the aggressive sales pitch "it may not be here tomorrow," "one of the sales guys inside could be negotiating on this very vehicle as we speak."

Since I'm stuck with it where can I get a service agreement for cheap?

Just enjoy your new van. I had an experience as the dealer said. In the middle of my negotiation with the dealer on EX cloth last Sunday, I was informed that the very van was sold to another buyer in the dealer office. I saw them smile. They went into the finance room on my way out.

If it's an EXL, it probably would have sold that same day. We are the largest dealer in our atate and we have ZERO EXL's in stock and all of our incoming ones are presold.

Also, don't always believe some of the "prices paid" you'll read about in internet forums.

Enjoy it! I'm sure you did fine.

Tyleraggie, thanks for that info. I've been dealing with Rusty Wallis Honda over the phone only and so far their quote for an EX-cloth is too high ($26,700 + TTL). The only dealership I've gone to personally is Bankston Honda and their price is $26,500 + TTL for the EX cloth...that price included all dealer fees, destination, wheel locks, splash guards and cargo tray. I didn't take it because I think I can do better.

Did you go to any other dealers in the DFW area?
